I agree. We know about the 98% but doesn't mean we should aim for it. I always spend more than is required because you still get good deals. It's just an extra $.20 cents, or add a $.99 nail polish in or something. You can't really hate the beeps if you're not fulfilling the requirements.

Wasnt trying to cheat the system, I didn't think nail polish counted and I am stocked on other cosmetics, so I figure this one time to be slightly under would be ok. I had just bought a bunch of cg and revlon on Monday and was $2.28 over in that transaction, I guess i should have planned better and uses all of them a once but I have had problems trying to use multiple 3/10 at once. . Just wanted some eyeshadow and I had mq that expire 6/30. Thanks for the input

I dont think you were trying to cheat or anything. It is just that it seems our (collective again) perspective shifts to look at the 98% as the threshold and then there is disappointment when we are a couple of cents shy and dont get what we had hoped for. I point to the fact that someone (you? someone else? I dont remember) worded it as being a couple of cents shy. Well you werent. If you were a couple of cents shy of the true threshold CVS would have given it to you (RA and Wags wouldnt FWIW). CVS gives us a lot, I was just trying to remind us of that.

Something to keep in mind is some areas have stores with a higher tier pricing structure. You may want to just price check a couple of things and if you have a store like that, use them in this type of situation. My go to product for comparing pricing tiers is the Loreal single eye shadow. Most stores will have it at 4.99, some at 5.49. I have gone to that store to complete a deal when the regular store would leave me a little short.

AHHH! I'd definitely consider shopping Black Friday more fun than the intense pain I hear comes with giving birth.
