Also, we have a new store that doesnt show up when I plug in our zip on SS. Well, obviously I knew this when I signed up but had forgotten and I was wondering why a couple of purchases havent showed up in my account. So I look at my cards and remember that I wasnt signed up for the store where I made the purchases. Then (of course then, not before when it could have been helpful) I have the flash that I should plug in a different zip code--one that has had this store for awhile and I am able to sign up. So if you dont see a store that you know you have, go to the stores website and find a couple of other zip codes to try. Great news about multiple cards giving multiple rewards. That should come in handy in the future! |

I don't know for sure but I would think they had to be in the same transaction, just like any other coupon.

I hesitate to ask this because I'm just sure it's obvious to everyone but me, but...how do they figure what we've "earned"? Is it a flat % of coupon? % of total purchase? Amount of the coupon itself?

| It is my understanding that we earn what SS says we will earn for each deal provided you sign yourself up for the deal and make the purchase. Have you gone on the SS website yet? (Forgive me for asking but I dont really understand what you are asking if you have been on the site it is pretty obvious...unless I am missing something big. Anyway, if you havent been on the site yet, check it out and that should answer this. If you have already been on the SS site and are asking this, perhaps someone will come on and be able to better answer your question.)

I have been on the site and have even signed up. It must be right in front of my nose and I'm just not figuring it out. I'll take another look. ![]() EDIT: Maybe this is where I'm having some confusion....is it that these Saving Star "coupons" are not actually "coupons" for money off at the register, but instead are money back to us when we purchase that item? For instance: There's a Tropicana coupon for $1. When I scan my card does that amount ($1) come off my purchase price at that time OR maybe is it that it is loaded onto my Saving Star account and THAT is what I get back into my Paypal account? I so hate being that person in the classroom who is the only one not getting it, but...here I am. :-D

it is confusing! You're right - they're not actual coupons and the money doesn't come off your total at the register. About 3-4 days after you buy the item SS will credit your online account with them for however much the promotion is for - so if you buy the Tropicana they'll put $1 in your account. Once you get to $5 you can redeem to Paypal, bank transfer, I think maybe Amazon GC? I don't remember all the options since I always do PP.

Maybe if they didn't call them "coupons" but "rewards" instead. You get a $1 reward for purchasing something, rather than having a $1 coupon on your account.

So you have to be careful not to use a paper coupon if you have coupons in your savingstar? What if you check out and don't realize you have a coupon in your savingstar and you scan a paper coupon? Am i understanding this correctly?

They have nothing to do with one another :-) It is a legit way to"stack" MQs because the one on Saving Star is just called a Q but in reality it is more like a virtual reward that you can get and accumulate in an online account until you hit $5 then you cash out. Saving Star does not know if you use an MQ and the store does not know if you have a Saving Star account so they do not cancel each other out.

So you have to click I want this in order to get the credit? It won't just automatically credit if you purchase the product and use your card?

Yep, you got it. Just click "I want this" and next time you use your store card that you have listed as tied to your Saving Star, to buy that item (as long as not exp) it will give you credit into your Saving Star Account with in 3-5 days.

******************************* Did anyone notice with the new Pepsi (Max?) promotion it specifically says any store any time, mix and match (stores and times)? So I guess there are some rewards that tally...not just across time but stores too! That could be great news with the right promotion. |

I'm sorry if this has been asked but I've googled for an hour (at least it seems like an hour) and can't fine the answer clearly. Can I register both my card and my boyfriends to one saving star account? And if I can and we both purchase a qualifying item is it then double the rewards or still one? Just figure it would be easier on one account instead of 2 especially since he really seems to believe saving money is to time consuming, and I will have to keep keep them both loaded...TIA

*Light Dawns...angels sing* Thank you all for explaining so thoroughly and patiently. Now...it seems to me if you are basically loading these potential savings onto your card in the event that you may purchase that item in the future, you should "want" every new "reward" that pops up on SS, correct? I mean...there's no limit or negative to having everything from Aspercreme to Zantax on there, right, because you never know when a MM will come along to work in your favor....?

2. Multiple store cards per account are accepted and most coupons are One Time Use per card. So yes, put everyone's CVS card on your account And I have not tried it myself but MissD has received a reward on each card on her acct. ![]() Quote:
Glad you got it.And no, there's no drawbacks to you if you load 'em all up just in case you happen to buy something. They do eventually sell out, though, so I don't click ones that there's just NO WAY I'd take that thing home even if it was a MM. Otherwise, I click away. |
