Hi iisrosered, The fields that are not supposed to be changed should be protected to help the new users from making mistakes. If you wish to remove the protection, you can do so from the file menu at the top of the screen. Assuming you do not have Vista which is different from all the other versions, go to Tools, Protection, Unprotect Sheet in the menu bar at the top. There is no password, so the protection should discontinue at that point. Then you can do anything you want with the spreadsheet. Let me know if that was not the problem. Thanks! |

| Hi Jim - Awesome job on your spreadsheet! I'm new to all this "coupon stuff" but not to Excel - actually go back to the dos days - yikes, I'm old. Anyway - is there a reason why the coupon count isn't multiplying across to the final cost columns? For instance, if I'm buying two razors at 7.99 and I have two $3 coupons, it's not calculating off the $6 in the final cost columns. I don't know - maybe I need another cup of coffee; am I missing something? |

Hi shelly! The reason it is not calculating $6 is twofold: 1) Sometimes people have coupons of different values for the same product. It would be difficult to enter this if the count of coupons was multiplied by the coupon(s) value. 2) The coupon count itself is actually there to count the total number of coupons because, last time I checked, CVS cash registers will error if you have more coupons than items. In an effort to prevent a slowdown at the register, this allows the user to see if they could toss in another item. Hope that helps! Thanks, Big Jim |

| CVS spreadsheet
Here is an awesome spreadsheet I got from someone and modified it a little. It calculates the OOP not including tax. It gives you a good estimate of what you will spend. Not sure if the attachment worked, let me see. |

This program sounds like a great idea. However how are you all using it? Do you all input your item info, print it out and bring it to the store? What if the number of items planned to buy are not in stock or you find some other deals there? Do you just manually calculate the figures at the store? I take way too much time at the store trying to figure out the least amount oop and it is very hard with 2 squirming kids (and being preggo!) which is why I've been going to the store at night recently (but this won't happen for long since I'm due in 2 month)... I would love to figure out a way to pre-calculate this stuff so I don't have to at the store.
