Cvs Store control on CRTs

I am convinced the store has control of what CRTs you get! Not just your spending/selections.

I was traveling and went to 2 different CVS stores in IN this weekend. Both stores had scanners, 1st gave me - $10/50, $1 water, $2 nuts , 2nd gave me - $1 water, $2 nuts

My closest store does not have scanner , NEVER has offers on end of tape . I also NEVER get any email from CVS!

I guess my store doesn't understand that coupons increase spending!

Well, you generally get a set of coupons each week, and once you've gotten everything from your 'set' you will then only get the CVS brand (i.e. nuts & water) until they have updated the system with more coupons. So after you got the good coupons from store #1, when you went to store #2 you didn't 'have' any good coupons left to be printed for the time period... Sometimes I suspect that the stores have some kind of control over it, though... It's hard to not be paranoid when it seems like other people in other areas are getting better coupons than you.... Also, if some of your coupons print on your receipt before you scan at the coupon printer, then you just got some of your 'set' for the week from the register and therefore will get less from the scanner. It seems like somtimes the scanners update on maybe wednesday or thursday from what I see of people posting when they get new stuff.... Might not be a hard and fast rule, though...

I understand the #1 and #2, cause they were same day...no issue there

what I don't understand is why home store NEVER gives me anything!!!
I can only assume the store is controlling [blocking]

also, no email at all...I have even called and they assured me my account was set up correctly

I work at CVS and have never heard of this. Most of our customers get the "good" coupons and then follow with the nuts/water coupons. Employees rarely get the "good" ones just and FYI most of the time we get nuts/water or very rarely a 10/50!

I almost cried in the store when I got a $1.50 off of Speed Stick CRT at the scanners today. This was of course 1 day after I bought my limit of 2 Speed Sticks w/ my IP coupons .

You can only get the CVS coupons ( nuts, water, paper towels) from the scanner, if your store doesn't have a scanner you won't get them, they never come out on the register tape. Same thing goes with the $ off coupons, I know some lucky people still get them, but I only get them when it seems like EVERYONE gets them. They NEVER come out on the register tape, I can buy stuff from a NON scanner store and not get any CRT's, then hit the store with a scanner and get those CVS specific coupons on a daily basis!

I think the program looks and tracks your past purchases. I buy Goodnites, and tend to get the CRTS for those, but never diapers. I bought the speed sticks before, so I got that CRT. I 've purchased a lot of Lumene, so I seem to get those. Every once in awhile I get something different, but rarely... like the CVS pedi thing or since I've bought rolaids/tums I got a coupon off CVS's new rolaids type item....

Also I've never been able to get the nuts/water coupon at one store then go to another and get them again... usually the scanner says no coupons today

I got the $2/2 nuts, $1/water and a $5/30 last week on my register tape. I usually use the scanner but it wasn't working that day. Maybe they'll come up just once on the register receipt but every day (just the generic cvs, not the $/$$) with the scanner?

I don't know. I think there may be something to the store control. I go to two CVS stores. One by my house and one by my office. The one at the office gives me all manner of coupons. The one by house NEVER EVER gives coupons on Sundays. I thought it was just me, but I met two other coupon ladies this past Sunday and neither of them got any coupons either. It's very strange. On weekdays I can get coupons at the store by my house, but not on Sunday.

Not 100% related.. I called CS asking them to link my email to my card, 2 months went by I am still not receiving any coupons by email. So I went online and tried to add my card to my account and now it would not allow me. I get message - "call CS". I am amused.

I wasn't receiving emails from CVS. I went in, deleted my email and typed it in again. I checked that all settings were correct and saved the info. voila, I started receiving emails. (Haven't in nine years!!)
