Okay, so I went to a new CVS today, and I asked where there clearance items were, as I saw none throughout the store.
The cashier told me that "because its seasonal time, all of the clearance was removed" from the store.

Anyone heard of this before? That REALLY sucks. I was so excited to go to a new store with new clearance!


(on the plus side, I found 5 of those clearanced hair dryers ($9.74 each- anyone know if there is another ecb attached to them soon? I looked in the ads, hopefully i missed it!

All 5 of my CVS have their clearance fully stocked. The Halloween clearance is all by itself.

I have seen this, especially in the smaller stores with limited space...need to make room for the holiday stuff

^ exactly this. I know where I work (not a cvs) i put my clearance in the back to make room.

All of our clearance stuff here went into the seasonal section and is now gone. I figured they were doing it to make room for holiday stuff.

I'm a store manager (not CVS), and generally in the new stores, there are no clearance items for a while til enough time has elapsed for new POGs to come out. Most stores clearance out their own product, so it may take a few months--that was the case at the new CVS store here in our town--no clearance at first, but now they have designated an end cap in the far left corner across from the nail care items for straggler items that they want rid of and the aisle with seasonal product will have it's own clearance after the holiday for a few days.

Ditto above posts, especially about the designated endcaps (vs. just a random clearance item here and there) and other clearance areas. Some stores just don't have the room for it with all of the additional holiday merchandise.

My CVS very rarely has any clearance items, and finding them is a treasure hunt in and of itself. I will say that while in Lexington last weekend I was at two CVS's to get DH some meds (why don't I just carry my stockpile with me just in case??) and saw several of the clearance blowdryers at both locations. Neither one of the stores had them marked and they were on the shelves with the full price ones. Hope his helps someone!!

oops, i just meant new to me, not new really.
It was at a nearby town-
other than the one in my town-- The next one is 20 miles away blahh
