Pharmacy ecb

I feel like I read somewhere that you're supposed to get $1 ecb every 2 prescriptions you fill at cvs. Is this true? I've filled so many there and never gotten any ecb..

.if its something you have to "signup" for does anyone have a link? I was buying makeup for years at cvs and had no idea about beauty bucks until a few months ago. I wonder if this is the same thing. I have a really old card, at least over 10 years

It's nothing you need to sign up for. Do you scan your CVS card when you pick up your prescriptions?

It isn't a separate ECB but part of your quarterly spending ECB.

You do not get it with certain prescription plans and in states which exclude the promotion.

I know this was talked about before... But has anyone tried to match offers for pharmacies? For example, the Walgreens circular this week says transfer rx and get a $25 gc. Would CVS match this promotion???

There is a new prescription plan that you need to sign up for I believe. For every 5 prescriptions you fill, you get $1 ECB. You can sign up online and add your prescription numbers to your account. Have the pharmacy scan your CVS card everytime you refill your prescription. It shows up on the bottom of my receipt now of how many you have filled and how many more you need to refill to earn your ECB's. It tally's it right above where your beauty bucks are referenced. It is called Pharmacy extra bucks rewards. Maybe this new program is only available in certain states.

Thanks to Robbo on another thread, I can confirm that this works. It's in their written policy to accept competitor rx Qs, so I used the Wags transfer Q and received a $25 gc.

I went to the "drop off" at the pharmacy, brought my empty medicine bottle, told the lady I wanted to transfer my rx and showed them the Q. The lady checked with the manager in the pharmacy and she okay'd it. The next day, I went to pick up my rx and told the cashier that the manager already okay'd it the day before, but she checked with her manager again (fine with me). She came back and said it was fine, so she gave me a $25 gc.

This is regional, it's pretty new and only in some areas. You'll know if you're in that area if you see the tally, if you don't see the tally after filling:

This is still how it works in most areas. Just give them your card when you pay for the prescription and it will keep track. Payout is with quarterly rewards.

Tried replying to this a couple times last night, wouldn't let me

I always try to scan my card but sometimes forget...the pharmacists never ask and I'm a forgetful person! But
I do most of the time.

I've never seen the prescriptions track on my receipt nor are they tracking with my quarterly . The only reason I know this I don't have insurance and according to my records I've spent at least 750 (yikes!) on prescriptions within the last year. Also, when I logged into my cvs account I noticed this little disclaimer under my available coupons/quarterly spending....does everyone have this or is it just me?

I did this as well with a target Catalina for a $10 gc. Neither the pharmacist nor the store manager had any idea what I was talking about, I had to call corp just to see if I had interpreted the policy correctly. I got my gc shortly after.

If you do plan on doing this make sure to bring your copy of the policy and be prepared to call corp if they don't acknowledge it. Not sure why they aren't all briefed on it.

And if I'm not going to get any kind of deal filling my prescriptions at cvs (ecb or quarterly) I'm going to stop doing it there. At least target has the "get 5 scripts filled get an extra 5% off your shopping trip thing", they gave me one of those free prescription cards and the prices seem to be a bit cheaper.

You don't get 2% for prescriptions. You are supposed to get 1 ECB for every 2 you fill (with your card, of course) and whatever that adds up to will be part of your quarterly spending ECB, unless you are in the other program Robbo explained. If you look at your spring spending and compare the ECB you got to 2% of that, you should be able to tell how much was for rx.

I got 5.50 for spring spending and I'm pretty sure that was my oop on non prescriptions. The new cvs site doesn't have a history tab anymore so I can't really check. I'll try to find an old receipt to double check....when did the spring period end 5/31?

I emailed cvs hopefully I'll figure it out. Either way I just spent 76 on a script cvs charges me 90 for...so target may win. Although I wish I could figure out how to trigger more target prescription Catalina's

You can use any competitor store prescription coupon but you still have to follow the requirements. The wags one is a $25 gc for a prescription transferred to wags....so in order to use it you'd have to transfer a prescription from another pharmacy, doesn't matter which one.

So no, you can't use it on a script that's already at cvs.

But....you could transfer to Walgreens, get a $25 wags gc, and next time you need it filled transfer back to cvs for a $25 cvs gc ....as long as you had 2 of those ad coupons

I emailed cvs hopefully I'll figure it out. Either way I just spent 76 on a script cvs charges me 90 for...so target may win. Although I wish I could figure out how to trigger more target prescription Catalina's
6/15, I think. $5.50 would mean you spent over $275 after coupons and ECB (not including tax, prescriptions, etc. and minus gas cards).

Weird that the history can no longer be seen.

Thanks for the info! I'll go looking for one right now. Yea I spent a lot oop because I was a bit overzealous about learning to coupon and getting "deals" before I knew the cvs ropes. Still learning, but oop is decreasing
