If you purchase $60 in 1 transaction you'll get a 2 gas cards.

In a BOGO offer only the one you're paying for counts towards the $30 but you can still use a coupon on both items.

I think I already know the answer to this, but want to make sure. The balance will track within the week (Sunday-Saturday) if we don't meet the $30 in one transaction, right? I seriously doubt my stores will have the # of Stayfree/Carefree needed for one transaction. Of course, I will mix and match items, but I don't want to be disappointed if I run out of Qs for other things.

I just want to post this here, and in the thread concerning the gas cards. Im already planning all my transactions, so I wanted to call my local stores, (which is only 1...), to see what gas cards they had etc. And they only had 1, and none of the Shell are around me, so I asked if they were ok with substituting gas cards for CVS gift cards, or cash cards, and they said that would not be a problem at all. They are also putting out a courtesy call to my local store to let them know its ok, cuz I explained to them that they said they would have to talk to the manager about it, but he wouldnt be there till Monday. So, Im gonna give CS a few and then call back my store just to make sure they are aware. I LOVE CVS customer service! They are awesome! I hope the mods wont delete my post in both threads and saying they are duplicates, just want to make sure everyone who views either thread gets a chance to see this.

UPDATE, JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH MY LOCAL CVS, AND ALL IS GOOD WITH GETTING CVS GIFT CARDS, OR CASH CARDS INSTEAD OF GAS CARDS! AWESOME, CUZ IM DOWN TO MY LAST CASH CARD....

Do they do this with regular ECB's as well? If not, why do they do it with gas cards?

Is it b/c you will not be spending the money in CVS?
If that is so and we opt for the CVS card, will they still deduct $10 from your quarterly spending tally?

Sorry for all the questions...just seems weird to change the way they do things b/c of a gas card.

The spending will go back if you got the cvs gift card and then used it at the store. And you don't get credit for spending when you pay for items using ECBs. And you would not get credit for spending using a gas card since the spending on this would be at another store. All this is how they always have done it.

They do this with all GC-type promotions whether gas cards or over Christmas when they had a bunch of different stores and then the CVS Cash Cards. I understand why they do it for CVS GC since they don't want to give you 2% for spending the same $10 over and over but I never understood why they do it for GC that aren't going to be used at their store.

Went to do the Gas Card deal today; having planned it out with Physicians Formula and Loreal.

Scanned my card first and got a $4/$20 AND a $3 off $10 of cosmetics; so had to refigure everything on the fly.

Then, the mgr came up because they didn't get the gas GCs in yet; so he asked if it was ok if he gave me an AMEX GC like they used from around the holidays, with no activation fee. I said that was fine. I was glad it wasn't a CVS GC cause I really wanted to use it for gas.

Mods, please feel free if you want to move this elsewhere; I didn't know if it should go under my trip today, or the thread for the gas card deal or the weekly deals. Plse feel free to move it.

I went to 2 different CVS stores today for gas card deals - one gave me a Shell card which is great, but like you, the other store gave me an amex prepaid card. They had both, but offered me a choice between Shell or Amex

Oh that would have been even better! The store I was at last night didnt have the GC yet but only offered a CC. Since I wanted to actually convert some of the ECBs back into money usable elsewhere, I just opted to wait.

I loved those little AmEx from before Christmas. Although I do have a slight issue with hording them. They make me so happy to see the little stack of them sitting there on the counter. I have managed to partially use one.

lucky you! I don't have a car so I would've loved to get an amex card. I would've rather had a $10 cvs gift card too. I gladly took the gas card though. I figure I can find someone to give it to, maybe to help pay for gas at some point when I need a ride somewhere.

Question.. Everyone keeps saying they scan their cards and get these coupons. Where do I scan my card and what are the red machines? Do all stores have them and I just haven't paid attention?

They're in different places in different stores, but usually somewhere in the front of the store. I think it says Coupon Center or something. Just listen for the beeps when you walk in. Everyone who shops there on a regular basis will scan their card first, or ask at the check stand.

4 stayfree 3.99*4= 15.96
4 carefree 1.57*4= 6.28

Total: 52.23

So I should only lack 7.77 for my next gas card, correct?

However the bottom of my receipt says amount towards award 41.11
amount needed to earn reward 18.89

Why is this? Do they not count the free carefree and stayfree that were BOGO?

Free ones do not count unless you used a bogo free coupon...if its a bogo sale, only the one you pay for counts...HTH
