Actually...this new link...the only difference is this bullet point was added to the first group:

* CVS/pharmacy will not accept third party manufactures' coupons with another retailer's logo (this is #2 in the first set of bullets)

That one has always been there...if you read further down...it shows you that you are allowed to use multiples...HTH

This just goes to show everyone that was using these coupons, "because they said I could", how wrong they were, this wasnt in their policy before, just on their facts page, but Im GLAD they added it, now maybe everyone will stop using coupons there that they arent supposed to, and then bragging about it.

Thanks Monkeydawn! The reason I asked is because that day I wanted to use a coupon that that had another store logo on it, very tiny but there.

I had my printed coupon policy from a long time ago but I had heard that they now accepted them so I looked it up on CVS site that day.

Anyway, this was their policy that day. (ll/10/12) http://www.cvs.com/bizcontent/genera...uponpolicy.pdf

The part about not accepting another stores logo was not there anymore just as my friend had told me, looks like they put it back now.

Thanks for clearing that up, and now I'll have to print the new policy again. And no using other store logos coupons, which is a bummer because Unilever quite frequently puts out good coupon booklets at my grocery store but have the store logo

Can you link to the policy you found. The policy I found was by searching for 'coupon policy' on the cvs website. It did pop up in a FAQ section but there are several FAQ sections on the cvs site.

A few months ago I had come across the same FAQ (the one without the third party lingo) and said that the policy had been changed. I didn't link it, Dana checked the policy and said it was still there, I just figured I missed it.

Some stores will still accept it. The logo shouldn't affect redemption as long as it is a mfr coupon so you could always ask at the store since the policies are at odds.

I wish the stores would date these on line policies. Then we could see which is the more current version. As it stands I would think it perfectly appropriate to print this one out and use it. I guess the local management could always decline any coupon for any reason. But I would think a policy that doesn't have that little tidbit would got a good way in convincing a manager to give it a shot!

Well, not really. The only change is the omission about third party coupons bit that is still on one of the policies on cvs.com. So they have dueling policies up. Since they arent dated we cant tell which is the most current policy I am going to email for a clear response so we know their intent but until then go with whichever policy you feel is best.

I asked cs about what this third party coupon was to them. It is any coupon not released by them or the manufacturer. I'm on the app so 'exactly' which wording has changed?

Ok I see. Well you can check the dates each one was posted online. I cant do that right now. And also their website has tons of coding errors. My boyfriend laughed so hard when he was looking through the page. We were trying to figure out why a link was dead. Anyway ill try to look when each was posted later.

Document properties, then "created" for the date? If that is how to do it (I figured there must be a way but couldnt figure it out yesterday), the the not accepting 3rd party coupons is in the newest policy. That one was dated May something. The one BettyQ found was dated Feb 3rd, 2012. Darn, it would have made for some nicer matchups.

Well IMO there is no harm in asking if they will accept those types of mfr coupons. Several of mine will.

I agree with monkeydawn. I'm able to use them at my store because I showed them that it is a real MQ and not a store coupon. I think some cashiers/stores know so little about coupons they can't tell if something is MQ or SQ. I think CVS knows this so they will reject any with a stores logo in the official policy.


About the 2 different versions. I did some googling and here are some revisions with dates.

It was February 7, 2012 when these changes were made: allowed to use more than 1 $/$$ per TX, use 2 coupons on bogo sale and no coupons with another stores logo. I can't find any dates on the for either of the policies listed on the cvs website. I will ask my boyfriend later about doing it. As far as I knew, until today, no other changes had been made. If the dates you found were from the document you downloaded to your pc/laptop etc, that would only tell you the day you downloaded the pdf, the date it was created on your device, not the day it was added to the site. I think someone should call CS and ask about the 2 different versions.

Aslo a suggestion for the future of this thread. I suggest we download the pdf's and host them on google docs or something, like an archive of revisions/history with timelines. That way we know when a change is actually made by comparing it to previous documents collected. There are several links that go no where because cvs changed their site a while back last year. So I have no way knowing what those coupon policies said.

The third bullet on this looks very strange to me. Like slightly out of line with the others and slightly larger? I have no doubt the first was derived from this document and something was either added or omitted.
