$4/$20 and the like mean that the $20 should be before tax...I have had cashiers let $19.97 pretax slide so I guess it's YMMV...

The great thing about the $/$$ coupons is that the amount of the $$ is before coupons. Add up everything in your cart and make sure you've reached the amount required for the $/$$ coupon. When you get to the checkout, hand the cashier your $/$$ first then your manufacturer's coupons. This is where you can really watch your total drop and your savings add up!

Items that are free after coupon such as the blood glucose meters, cereal (coupons from Vocal Point), Johnson & Johnson To Go Kit ($1 off or $3/2 blinkies), Glade items (when on sale), etc. can really reduce your total in a hurry. When paired with the $/$$ coupon, you'll find that your savings (or ECB growth potential) is dramatically increased.
