Ok, I'm a coupon user, and have been since Feb. of this year. However I am just now really really getting into using Q's at cvs and working with my ECB's. Up until now I have just gotten like one item in a transaction and gotten the ecbs from it. but can you get multiple ecb's in one transaction. like for example, if I bought a candle, and a bounce dryer bar would I get the ecbs from both items even though I bought them at the same time, or would I have to purchase each seperately? I THINK that I will get one for each item as long as it isn't like 3 candles I would get 3 ecbs in that one transaction... am I right? |

You will get one ECB for each of the different deals that you complete during that purchase. So if you buy one candle and one bounce bar, you will get two separate ECB's. But if you buy 2 candles (assuming the limit is 2 or more), you will get a SINGLE ECB, that has the value of two of the candles. Hope that helps you. |

OH so I would still get the full amout of both ecb's for the SAME item but only as one print out! I have been doing seperate transactions because I didn't know I would get both ecbs.

| I think you've got it ... As long as the number of them is below the deal limit, then you will get the full amount ... but it just prints out as one coupon.

If you had purchased both candles in a single transaction, you'd have received an ECB for 2 X $6.99 = $13.98. That $13.98 can be extremely difficult to spend because you have to spend the entire amount of the ECB in a single transaction. It would be much easier to have bought one candle at a time and received a $6.99 ECB from one transaction and a $6.99 ECB in the next transaction. Some folks learned the hard way when there was an ECB on photobooks. I believe the photobooks were $7.99 and they were printing $7.99 ECBs. The folks bought all 5 books together in the same transaction and received a $39.95 ECB! OUCH! Trying to spend an ECB worth $39.95 (that's the amount that you owe after coupons) can be impossible!. Had those folks purchased each book individually, they'd have received 5 ECBs each in the amount of $7.99 -- an amount that's much easier to spend. |

I usually break mine into separate transactions. I learned my lesson with large ECB's the hard way.

Madmurphy - Thanks for the great explanation. I haven't shopped this store yet as they are just now building on in my area but I'm reading and learning getting ready for when they open. I'm HOPING that they are easier to work the Walgreens, which is quite complex for my simple mind. |
