Yeah, I think this is what they mean... but all of you are right, they should make it clear in the original policy, otherwise it's ambiguous and subjected to the "interpretation" of managers/cashiers, who we know are not necessarily the sharpest knives in the drawer

yes cvs is supposed to give rainchecks for items with ecbs, the only way the store is not allowed to issue a raincheck is if it is stated in the sales ad, infact in the past year cvs redesigned the rainchecks specifically for sale items with ecbs.

typically the only competitors q's that cvs takes is for a new or transfered perscription, the ones for gift cards but depending on the store manager it could be his or her choice, each SM has their own way of handling coupons, for example at my store it's if it scans we take it...

A newbie here and I just read the "CVS 101" thread about $/$$ coupons. A friend just told me last night that she used a coupon for less than the $$ and it still took off the $ amount. She also said she this worked at Target but the cashier questioned her. She persisted and finally the CSM told the cashier that if the register took it then it was ok. Anyone else done this?

CRT coupons will all work, whether or not you buy the right item or the right amount. But the cashiers can get in BIG trouble for doing that, not to mention its using the coupon in a manner other than which they were intended for, which is a no-no here. My friend that worked at CVS saw several of her co-workers get fired for doing just this - they would scan all their CRT coupons each day to get their purchases for very little OOP, even though they never bought the intended items. NOT WORTH IT. Your friend should not have gotten the Target coupon either if she didnt buy the required amount of items.

I read this whole thread and am a BIT confused....Does CVS honor Competitors Coupons or NO?

Also I am wondering...when you have a 10.00 off 50.00 purchase (ECB) and a ton of other coupons...when do they use the 10.00 off 50.00 before or after my coupons. Like does the FINAL Total have to be 50.00 or will they take it off prior to my Coupons?

Keeping track of each stores coupon policies is so frustrating

CVS accepts competitors pharmacy coupons, not front store.
and just make a habbit of giving them the $/$$ coupon first and it wont beep if you give all of your other coupons first it takes your total down too much it might and give you ecbs last to get you total oop as low as possible...
