This is a can of worms! I personally feel the peelies are for the product that they are on to be purchased right then and there. I HATE when people come thru and take all of the peelies off the products and you can clearly see there is still sticky residue from where it once was. I have even seen store employees take them off and put them behind the counter at Walgreens.

I might take one or two if I know that I'm going to use them soon but not that day. Otherwise, they stay on the product when I see them. I don't like it when someone takes all the peelies from products I want to buy so I don't want to take them away from others.

I am emailing a friend of mine in law enforcement how state law would apply. Is it stealing like shoplifting to take that coupon?

I wouldn't be so quick to judge. Have you ever seen a peelie on product A for product B??? I have, plenty. Just recently packages of Chapsticks had peelies for $0.50 OFF GUM!!! The coupon did NOT state "$0.50 off GUM WITH purchase of Chapstick". Listerine Mouthwash had some peelies for $0.50 off facial wipes, no Listerine purchase required. Also, Cascadian Farms Cereals had peelies for $1/2 Cereals OR Granola Bars. I was buying granola bars - I took the peelie of the cereal. Many times it's not so cut and dry. Don't be quick to judge! |

I vote No. Not OK for me, anyway.

Obviously, many people do it (whether it's 1 or 2 or 20) and have no problem with it...I think that's a shame. JMHO. |

I do it and I have no problem admitting it. While I can see where some may say it is tacky as someone said I doubt that it is illegal. Coupons are worth 1/100th of a cent or something so can they really arrest someone for taking less than a penny? I say no.

Oy, this is a thoroughly beaten horse ![]() There's a thread dedicated to this in Controversy Corner and several other sidetracks about it in other threads. The lengthiest conversation in a thread called "Peelie Taker A Bust" with many references to the law, or lack thereof, and the "moral" implications of taking a coupon. You're either a taker or a leaver. The end. Last edited by Robbo; 05-06-2011 at 01:15 PM. |

I have read the post by the hosts about threads like this and how they are bad. I did not start this thread to start controversy. I started it just to see the thoughts and actions of my fellow couponers. Thats all nothing more PLEASE DO NOT POST ANYMORE IN THIS THREAD. TY
