| I called them a few days ago and they said they were still taking them up to 5 months at this point. So, who knows, policy could change. I hope they do not change policy. I would be going there more often then.

Thank godness, I did not throw out all my over 30-days expired Qs. I have an old binder that is already tabbed that I made into my "Cub Binder" . I spent Sunday moving expired Qs older than 30 days to the "Cub" binder.

| I just got home and have to put everything away, but Monticello has now changed over to the 30-day policy as well. My favorite cashier said the email came through from corporate yesterday. So, I would assume, if your location is not at 30-days yet, they will be very soon. Use up those expireds ASAP!

| Has anyone had their local Cub Foods location still take expireds more than 30-days past date in the last day or two? I received another follow up email from Corporate tonight stating, "I am following up to let you know that we have not actually implemented a new policy at this point. The coupon policy you have is the same one that we have currently, so I am not sure why the store informed you that they have a new policy. Keep in mind that since some of the stores are licensee stores they may have different policies, so the best way to get the most up to date information is to call the store directly."

Cub Foods Hi Tammy, Colleen here. Great question! The policy regarding the expired coupons has not changed in any of our Cub Food stores, we will still accept expired coupons up to 90 days past the printed expiration date. I apologize if you were given the incorrect information. I will definitely pass your comments on to the store director of the Monticello location, so they can be sure everyone is on the same page. Thanks for taking the time to provide us with this information Tammy , and I hope you have a great afternoon! They also wrote this: Cub Foods Hi Deb and Tammy. I'm sorry that you were given incorrect information. We have let the appropriate parties know that incorrect coupon acceptance information is being given out by the Monticello Cub. You will still be able to use your manufacture coupons for up to 90 days past their expiration date. Tammy, thanks for the update and Deb thank you for letting us know that you were told this as well. Thank you both for shopping at Cub and happy couponing! ~Kimberly I still wonder how we can use them up to 90 days, when all of the workers say 30 days.?? | Finally an official answer
I personally spoke with a gentleman named David, who is the head of the marketing department for Cub Foods. Although, I do not have this in writing, here is what he said. The manufacturer's are not keen on the 90 day policy and they have been pushing for Cub to change it for a long time. So, in compromise, they were able to work out a deal with the manufacturers. The "NEW" policy will be set at 30 days. Here is where the confusion has come in. The stores were informed about the upcoming change, but were not supposed to be disclosing it (as it is not yet taking place). Which makes sense why some stores are doing it and some aren't. He didn't have an ETA on this, but said it will be in full effect soon. I hope this clears up some questions and helps us all out!! |

| They finally came out officially from Corporate with this. So, if your location is still taking up to 90 days expired coupons, use them up quick! <<<Hi Cub Fans! We have some important news regarding upcoming changes to our coupon policy. As you may know, we’re excited to be one of the only grocers in Minnesota that allows customers to redeem expired manufacturer coupons, as we know that our shoppers value using expired coupons at Cub Foods. Despite requests to discontinue accepting any coupons past their expiration date, we will still be accepting expired manufacturer coupons up to 30 days past the printed expiration date. This new policy will go into effect on April 15th, 2012. While accepting any expired coupons is rare in the grocery industry, we know that our shoppers appreciate this extra savings opportunity. Thanks again for shopping at Cub Foods!>>>

Has anyone heard if this will apply to franchise locations (like Eden Prairie)?

I just spoke to a manager at Eden Prairie and he just saw the notice for the 30 day expiration and he thought that MAYBE? they would also follow this rule but he was not for sure on this change yet or not. But as of today they are still 5 months, so go use them if you can.

I can confirm that Monticello is back up to 90 days through April 14th. So, I am guessing that all stores who "jumped the gun" will be back to 90 days expired through April 14th.

In a lighter note; I no longer will have to keep tons of expired coupons; my binder and coupon holders will be lighter and my crates where I keep my inserts will not be as cramped. I am just trying to see the bright side.... I agree; Cub sales are not as good as they used to be and the expired 90 days coupon policy was the only thing that kept them couponmasters-competitive. So sad.

Well I just called Eden Prairie Cub again and they are going to go to the 30 day expiration policy too. But they are still taking 5 months expiration until the 15th. Bummer.

My store (New Brighton) told me that they have to manually enter all expired coupons because of policy change. The cashier (I think she's some kind of nighttime manager) told me that they actually won't be accepting expired coupons at all soon. Ugh. So much confusion about the policies nowadays. I'm glad my non-Super Target takes expired coupons. If it scans, it is accepted. That's where I'll be using most of my expireds.

my buddy in MN got this in the email regarding her query: Dear xxxxxx, As of April 15th, Cub Foods will be accepting manufacturer coupons up to 30 days past their printed expiration date. This is a change from our current policy that allows manufacturer coupons to be redeemed up to 90 days past their printed expiration date.
