You type the word you want the link to say then highlight it with your mouse and while its highlighted select the insert link and copy your link.

Ok, say you want the word you will be able to click to be the word here.
Type here and with your left mouse button highlight it (it will be blue) will its blue click the add link symbol that looks like a globe and the box will pop up and just paste your link. Try that.
I am not too savvy either hence my poor ability to explain things
