So I just had the Kirby people at my house for a demonstration. I ended up being told that if I bought one before the end of November I could get it for 500 dollars...I am just wondering what everyone else things of this deal.

Too good to be true maybe...I didn't get anything in writing, just the guys name and an offer. I suppose the worst that could happen is a get 500 dollars together and call them before the end of November and the act like I am a crazy person...we will see.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is a Kirby worth it? It sounds like a heck of a deal for a 2200 dollar vacuum cleaner. Please let me know what you all think...TIA

Did he mention special rebates or anything? Or that if you bought it you just pay $500?
Did he say it would be a NEW one?

Some deals that I find too good to be true are true especially in this economy. No one wants to buy a 2200 vaccum because they can't afford it. Now if the price it near the dyson amount they might be able to sell more since dyson's are such good vaccums.

It is weird...b/c the offer didn't come from the guy doing the demonstration...it was the person that he called to come pick him up that "wanted to talk to me" He said that I could get a KIRBY (I can't recall if he said NEW or not) for 500 bucks...including tax if I contacted them back before the end of November. I took the Direct sales number that he gave me along with his name (Brian the sales director).

He gave you his direct number? hmm.. maybe he's stealing them?
I would call the regular phone number and ask if this is a legit and a promotion they're having or if a sales director can even offer such a promotion?

If its a new(not refurbished) non-stolen Kirby, that is a heck of a deal.

He gave me the DIRECT SALES number not his direct number...it sounded like it was the number directly to the sales department. He said something about being in the PUSH month...so they are getting alot of credit for sales, not necessarily commission...not really sure...I guess I will just call when I have the money and see...nothing ventured nothing gained...thanks for the input

The Kirby is a great vacuum! My parents bought one when they were first married, 66 years ago, and it still works. It's been refurbished, but they still use it weekly. They also purchased a second one to use on another floor of the house 25 years ago. The only vacuums they've ever had! I've had the Kirby demo at my house twice in the past 12 years, but have never bought one. $500 is a great price, if it's a new one from an authorized dealer - and not stolen, like FreebieMama suggested. How did the Kirby salesman get your name-a cold call or was it a referral from a friend, or did you contact them? They got my name through referrals from friends who bought one.

They knocked on my door...he had the Kirby...I never saw a business card or anything but they left a flyer and a paper with prices on it and payment options...The guy that did the demo had his "cruise paper" the contest or whatever that they have for the demo guys...

If you do get a New Kirby for the $500 that is one hell of a deal, we paid $1100 for ours about 1 year ago. We love it! The name of ours is Sentria. Make sure you do your home work first thou. call the number and have them call you back to see what number they are calling from. And go on line and find the phone number to Kirby and call their head quarters. Get names of the person selling it and check their I.D. Good luck and let us know what happends.

Yes, they still do go door-to-door. I was just curious if it was a referral, then you would know they were legitimate Kirby salespeople.
