any particular season that ground chuck is cheaper?

I was wondering if there was any season ground chuck is usually cheaper than otehr times of the year. I know probably not, just wondering? Seems like most of the time I cant find anything under $2 a pound. Thanks

meat can have seasonal pricing...

for instance if the price to feed beef is up, it may be more economical to slaughter than to hold/feed; can also be weather related, like in times of drought

there are also seasonal specials for holidays...where they have ramped up production and want to move it during the time it will be popular...think Thanksgiving turkeys or Easter hams

there may also be some local seasonal effects, depending on where the meat is from

...but basically, you can't reliably predict ground beef pricing...when you see it, snap it up!
