| How many coupons can be mailed for one stamp?
I thought that I had seen a post a while back that said approximately how many coupons could be mailed for one stamp. Does anyone know this? I don't have a scale or I would try to find out myself. Just an estimation is fine, but I think this info would be great for anyone who is trading or doing a coupon train to know what postage to put on their envie or when to go to the post office. TIA

I think I read somewhere that around 50-75 but if you have tearpads and not just paper Q's then it might not be as many.

You can get a scale at the $1 store and weigh them - that's what I do since I mail out a lot of non-inserts

If you have internet printables, or non-insert coupons on heavier paper it will weigh more.

My rule of thumb is 25-30 coupons is 1 stamp. Anything over that I throw an extra stamp on. Past experience 60 coupons is always 2 stamps. HTH.

I have a cheap kitchen scale that I weigh all my envies on before they go out. It seems that they usually stay below the 1 oz/1 stamp if there are 50 coupons or less (obviously, unless there are cardboard ones in there)... The post office told me that for the first oz. you place the first class stamp on and for each additional oz, place on a 17 cent stamp. (Yes, they sell 17 c stamps just for that purpose!) I haven't had to place more than one regular stamp + one 17 c stamp on any of my envies (And I've sent some with over 100 Q in them.). But, Yes...the kitchen scale is a lifesaver...Otherwise, I'd be going to the p.o. every 2 days!! ![]() HTH!

I usually can get 40-50 coupons in an envie for the the 1 oz. It depends on if you have a lot on non-inserts also. I recently mailed a 40 coupon envie that required a second stamp. (17 cent one.).
