HOPE THIS HELPS

This may seem like a simple question but how does a carpet steam cleaner work exactly? Many people are very confused as to what the difference is between steam cleaning your carpet as opposed to shampooing your carpets. We are here to resolve this issue and to help people understand the differences.

A carpet steam cleaner works by a very simple and easy to understand method. This type of cleaning method truly does clean deep by drawing dirt to the surface and by wiping it off before it has a chance to stain the carpet. How exactly does it do this you may ask? A carpet steam cleaner machine uses a liquid-based cleaning solvent which can be vaporized or turned into steam. Once the cleaning solution is in the machine the machine will inject the cleaning solution into the carpet in the form of steam or vapor. This steam or vapor compels the dirt to come up to the surface at which point the extractor sucks up the dirt using high pressured air. Once the dirt is removed, the machine vacuums the carpet to make sure that all the dirt has been removed.

Some carpet steam cleaners are also called a carpet extractor and a vacuum cleaner. Most Rug Doctors are in fact a form of steam cleaner, but they do not use a high heat to ensure that your carpet does not get damaged. The most important thing to do once you have selected a machine and a solution solvent is to follow the machine's directions. Each machine works a little different and to make sure you don't ruin anything make sure to follow the directions in the users manual.

There are many versions of steam cleaner machines and some are much more effective than others. Before selecting a machine do a little research on the type of carpet you have because some carpet fibers do not do well with extremely high heat. Most modern day carpets are just fine but make sure to check out carpet that is more than 10 years old. We also suggest also using a mild solvent solution as you do not want to jeopardize damaging your carpet.

If you are considering cleaning your carpets, steam cleaners are by far the most effective solution. Steam cleaners have a very good reputation for being able to remove tough dirt and stains and restoring your carpet to its brand new look and color.

Well I have been reading lots of info online and I think a more heavy duty shampooer wioll ork better for pet hair, stains and old carpeting. I found one @ Target 150 I think its a good investment over renting.
