I have an HP deskjet920C which has been a GREAT printer for me!! NOW...just within the last 2 days it will not print in BLUE. (I am guessing about the color exactly - but from the weird colors it makes things...I am guessing it is BLUE that is not printing). I aligned the print heads first - as I thought the lines on the FLIP's I printed looked weird and not straight. Then I went to Services under Printers and cleaned the ink cartridges - then went to Primed and did this all a few different times and changed the color cartridge THREE TIMES...thinking it was just bad ink cartridges! What am I missing...or is this how PROBLEMS begin and it is on its last legs??? Please someone...ANYONE...help me!!! ![]() Last edited by catch22; 08-01-2009 at 02:06 PM. Reason: fixe! |

when you say 'changed 3 times', were these new cartridges? refilled? HP brand? any messages from printer? lights? instructions for cleaning... http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/bpd08798.pdf

Theey were all HP and "new" as in never refilled and in original packaging. The first two were "expired" so I thought maybe the ink was just dried up - so kept trying another one. But the last one is newer - so I really don't think this is the problem.

Try cleaning the printer heads with a q-tip dipped in alcohol. Maybe it is just gunked up.

I don't have this exact same model printer but things you can check Did you make sure to remove the little plastic strip of tape on the cartridge ? (I know it's a silly question but I can't tell you how many times my parents have done that) Remove the cartridge and set it onto a moist (not wet) paper towel and see if any ink ends up on the paper towel . If it does then you know the ink is not dried up and that cartridge should be fine. Make sure that Windows settings have not been changed and the printer you are using is set to default printer. Start > Control Panel > Printers and other hardware > view installed printers Last resort ... uninstall your printer software and reinstall it again . Make sure to update any drivers . Sometimes the software gets bugged and that could cause it to print in one color. Hope this helps |
