Question,multiple identical item coupons?

I’m trying to figure out how to word this question so it makes sense…I’m new to couponing and need to know, so here goes. Do any of you have trouble using mutable identical item coupons in a single order? In short, say you have a coupon for $1.00 off of a single box of tea but you buy three teas and want to use three identical coupons. Is this a problem? The dollar store told me I can’t use more than one coupon at a time, and there was a slight blip at Wal-mart when I tried using multiple pasta coupons this way. Although the cashier just asked if I bought three items and when I said that I had she put the last two in manually. After this I started looking over my coupons and noticed a lot of them say “One item per purchase”…now in the beginning I was thinking this meant per item purchased, but maybe I’m wrong. Could anyone enlighten me?

"per purchase" is per item--3 boxes of pasta is 3 purchases.

If it said 1 per transaction, that's when you'd only use one coupon.

I don't have problem using multiple like coupons equal to the number of items I buy at most stores EXCEPT Freds. Over here, the SM would always say ONLY ONE COUPON PER PERSON PER DAY even if its not doubling. I always manage to find items that match their sale price with a coupon that makes the item FREE. the DMs cell number is now on my speed dial so that when the SM tries the line on me, I can always call the DM to straighten her out EACH TIME. its getting inconvinient but she can't prevent customers from buying at the store with coupons since they have a banner ad that they take up to $1000 worth of coupons. She's mean but I don't let her get away with it, the coupon just match the price and fortunately for me, its completely free since tax is computed after coupon. it burns her behind but its not her store and my savings isn't taken off her paycheck. she's jealous she doesn't know how I manage to have a lot of inserts coupons (I've already told her to buy lots of Sunday papers and cut coupons when she has no customers).

I've gotten free Reach toothbrushes, Johnson's buddies bars, Crest toothpaste, Olay hand lotion, Edge shave gel and lots of other travel size items.

Multi Q's

I just went to Kroger today and got 20 packs of Cottonelle TP and had 20 q's for it. I had no trouble using them. They were .50/1 and the TP was .99 a pack and when they double it I got it free!! I got 20 packs of TP and 2 Betty Crocker Warm Delights that were 1.99 and I had 2 .50/1 q's for so that made them .99 each. I got all that for $3.10 whoo hoo~ We will not need TP for a long time!!

I bought 11 boxes of tea at Kroger and used 11 coupons so all were free (minus tax). I'll be drinking tea for years.
