| Price Match Question
Am I correct that if you take in an ad from another store to Walmart they will match the price on same item? You can also use a coupon after they have matched it? I'm thinking Purex at CVS is $1.98 but only limit of 4. Can I PM at Walmart and use my $1.00 off coupons? Do you tell them before they ring up that you want a PM or how does it work? |

I haven't PM'd at WalMart, only Target. But you would want to give them the ad at the same time they are ringing the item up I believe. I think most people put their PM items either at the beginning or the end of their transaction so it doesn't get messed up. You can use a coupon on a PM item. I personally could not PM a CVS ad because we do not have a CVS within 25 miles of the WalMart I would go to, but that is on a store to store basis based on what stores are in your area. I would assume if you are getting a CVS ad in your paper, you have one in our town so they would PM it.

@ Deb: Thanks to this site, I literally just found out yesterday that Target does PM! Since you have done this at your Target...wanted to ask you what's the best way to go about it. The SuperTarget I go to has Wal-Green's, CVS, and a Kroger less than 5 miles from it. So anytime I see something advertised in those other 3 stores that's cheaper, I just take the ad into Target and present it during my checkout? Does it require a manager to get involved or does the cashier adjust the price? |

One thing to note, if you look at the Target PM policy on their website, they will only PM a product if you are using a Target store coupon, if the item after the Target coupon makes the amount still higher than the other stores ad. Say you are buying a box of tissues. It is 1.00 at WAGS and Target has the same size/count for $1.50. If you are trying to use a .75 off Target coupon, it would bring the amount below $1.00, so you cannot PM and use the Target coupon at the same time. You can however, use a MFG coupon after the PM is done, so if the .75 off coupon was a MFG coupon, you would then be able to PM to $1.00 and then use the MFG .75/1 to get the price down to .25. Hopefully, that all made sense. I know some stores may not abide by the Target corporate PM policy on their site and may allow a Target Q to take it below the PM price, but I always error on the side of assuming a store follow corporate policies unless I am told different by the store. When in doubt, ask at CS counter because they would know for sure.

I just went to try and find their online price match policy and couldn't find it. Strange because I always have before. Hopefully it is listed under the Target forum here on AFC that you can find and print out.

Deb: Thank you for the explanation. Next time I'm at my Target, I will stop by CS before I start shopping and find out their specific way of handing PM. |

Deb: Thanks again! Yes, I did find the PM policy link on the Target forum. In addition, I played around in the Target web site and found it through there too...although it's hidden and I can see why many people don't know about it. I tried posting the link here but it won't let me since I don't have 15 posts yet. But in the Target site, you scroll at the bottom, click on corporate "about us", then go to "our mission", and then click on "our low prices" box on the right hand side. |
