I am learning the ins and outs of couponing and I have recently noticed that a few threads have mentioned that they used a B1G1 coupon along with two "Cents off" coupons for each product. Is this a normal transaction. Any advice on how to properly coupon stack?

Every store has its own specific rules. None that I shop at will allow stacking. You need to check the rules at the store you plan on shopping at.

I have found that when you bogo, both items show on your reciept as a purchase even though one may be free and the computer has taken my coupons for both items. Therefore ask them nicely just to scan them to see if they will go through.

I love BOGO! At the grocery stores I shop the items both show up on the receipt and I am able to use two coupons. It is heaven! Just recently my grocery store had 50% off a brand name cereal line and I used an internet coupon site to print coupons for the brand ($1.00 off), I used 10 coupons. Seriously, I could have printed much more and used them...but I don't have that much space -- . I was very happy with the savings! Last edited by marisolb2003; 01-25-2011 at 10:46 AM. Reason: typos |

I think most of the stacking is done with manufacturer coupons and store coupons specifically put out by the store. The B1G1 coupons can usually be paired with another coupon for the required item you have to buy in order to get the other free. If there is a B1G1 sale then each item is usually allowed 1 coupon. Of course, coupon policies vary so just be sure to familiarize yourself with them and try to keep a printed copy handy of the stores you go to the most.

I had planned my first "stacking" trip for today at a near by Publix. I was told they don't do it there except with other "grocery" stores. In other words, not Target, because the ones here locally are not Super Targets.....But still had a good experience. I spent $61 and change and saved $60 and change. I am new to this as well.

I have only been able to use one store coupon and manufacturer coupon at the same time. That is the only way the stores I shop at allow coupon use.

If you shop at Publix you can use 1 B1G1 coupon and 1 cents off coupon not 2 cents off coupons. The best is when they have a item B1G1 and then you can use 2 cents off coupons. HTH
