| BOGOF Coupon Question
Ok so I was in the store today and bought two of the same item. I have one manufacture coupon for $1.00 off and one BOGOF coupon. Well the way I understood it, I should have got 1.00 plus the full price of the item off my total bill. However I did not. The items cost 1.49 each. The cashier scanned the $1.00 coupon first and the the BOGOF coupon. I got a total of 1.49 off the bill. So I ask why that happened. Well your "free" one is always the cheapest of the two.... soooo if one had 1.00 off it was cheaper than the 1.49 one. I asked customer service and everything and couldnt get it to be changed. I finally just dropped it and chalked another one up to their ignorance. I asked if that was the cash that means I can use two manufacturers coupons on any item... right? No that isnt how that works.... I finally just left the store. The difference was a 1.00 and arguing with the customer service wasnt really worth it. I did however return to the store for round 2 of purchases.. bought the same items.. This time however, I held onto the $1.00 off coupon until after the BOGOF cleared. And guess what ... you do get 2.49 off if you scan the BOGOF first. Anyone else have this problem?? |

Many stores wouldn't have let you use both coupons to begin with so the fact that they did is pretty cool. As for the amount, that's why you should always use the BOGO first. ;o)

I have never had a problem using two coupons... with one of them being BOGOF. The latest happened at target, but I have used them at CVs and Walgreens in the same manner.. I never thought it would be a problem since I had two of the same item, I would think I could have used two coupons. Hmm... Have to keep an eye out for it. Thanks for the info. Lynsey |

| I'm pretty sure it has to do with how your store rings up BOGOF. One of our grocery stores rings both items at 1/2 price. Another rings one at full, 2nd item at 0. However if the store you went to rings up first item at full price and 0 for the second and takes the Q's like you said the first time, then that is the way the Q hits! Smart cashier or her luck of the draw. I think you figured it out by going back and doing it to the best of your advantage, instead of the stores. It's part of knowing the exact way a store does their rings and Q's! Does that make sense?? Hope this helps!!

The same can be true with the BOGO. To me, the BOGO is off one of the items and the $ is off the other so two coupons for two items. Some stores consider the BOGO off both items and won't let you use another coupon in conjunction with it. (The whole "one coupon per purchase" thing. ;o)This should all be clear as mud to you now. |
