Hi, in regards to organizing your coupons. I bought a binder that zips up and I purchased trading card pages to put my coupons in. I have them sorted out by catagory. For example some of the ones that I have are (1) Air Freshners (2) Baby (3) Baking and so on. Would be glad to help you in any other way if you need help. Just let me know.

Mine is similar to applerama's binder. I got a fake 5star at WM on clearance for like $5! I love it..and it's purple I love the zip up for sake of not dropping them everywhere..and I have a 2 year old that loves to run around with it. just wish i could figure out a system that works both efficiantly and with my OCD |

My mom always used an old shoebox and envelope system, so that's what I've always used. I just upgraded to a plastic shoebox, . I like using business size envelopes and when they start tearing/wearing out, they are easy to replace. Also easy to just grab one envelope and stick it in your purse.

Someone, please double check this, but I think I saw the Case-It brand binder, with shoulder strap at Target for $10.

I use an entirely different system. I have tried several times to tweak the binder system, but it requires too much organizational time....too much cutting, too much filing, too much carting of extras into the stores. My binders (it took 2-3 to organize everything, had to be in the house when I was home and with me at all times when I might pop into a store. Since I am a fly-by shopper ( I pop into the store daily and maintain adequate inventory...I can only recall running out of an item when my DD "went shopping" in my pantry and forgot to tell me), I do not plan a trip each week. My plans only involve doing the deals and picking up milk and fresh foods as needed...but only on sale. I have tried everything over my 30 years of couponing and I have finally found a system that I can keep in order. I have a file cabinet and I file uncut inserts by date. I use a database and cut only the coupons I need for the week. I keep a notepad (or my brain) to make note of unadvertised deals and I cut coupons for those before my next pop-in. I use clips and envies to keep my weekly coupons. I use a separate envie for each store. In my down time---waiting for dentist, waiting to pick up kids, etc., I file any unused coupons (last week's sales) in my wallet accordian file by category and remove expireds. These unused coupons always go to the store with me. I also file the blinkies and tearpad coups in my wallet file as I walk through the store. When the wallet file gets too fat, I remove some of the duplicates to a surplus file, which is much larger and has the same categories as my wallet file. This stays in the car, so I can run out to get any "overflow" coupons in case of an emergency (clearance sale). This might sound complicated, but it is very simple and my organizing time is cut down drastically. If you want to try this and need more info, feel free to pm me. |

After weeks of saying I would (more like months), I finally switched to the binder method. I am IN LOVE. I was using two accordian filers (one for food, one for non-food) and clipping only what I thought I would want to use/needed, and kept all inserts in a box if a sale came up later. I was getting so tired of not having all my Q's with me when I saw an item on clearance. I have mine organized by main categories (Food, Household, Bath/Body, Medicine) and then Sub-categories in alphabetical order (Baking, Beverages/Air Fresheners/ Cough-Cold, etc) My binder was $3 at a garage sale. I found it out of nowhere and couldn't pass it up. It's only a 2", so I'll need to upgrade soon but for now it works. It's an old Five Star. I have about 2-3 9 pocket card protectors, and one 4 pocket picture sleeves per category. ![]() In the red zipper pouch I keep my scissors, calculator and store envelopes, plus any Q's I find in-store. To the left, I keep my overload of Target Q's in the black zipper area, but I may use an accordian for those. Just too many to store there. ![]() Here I put my sales flyers, my spiral notebook, plus store policies (need to print out). ![]() ![]()
