Packaged items - using 2 coupons....

Today at Target I found Lysol clearanced out @ 2.80 each. There was a LARGE can and a little "lysol to go" can cellophaned together. I had coupons for both - a $1/1 for the big can, $.50 for the little one. I asked customer service, for some reason I just had this strange thought - could I use both coupons since I was purchasing BOTH items? She said she didn't know, but it was probably up the manufacturer, to try and see.

Then I found razors - Mach3 & Venus disposables in a hard case packaged with a Gillette or Skintimate shave gel as well. Again, I had Q's for both. They were clearanced at $5.51, I had $2/1 and $.55/1 q's.

I got to the register and the cashier didn't blink - scanned and accepted all coupons.

Since I really don't know - IS that the norm? Can you use two or is it considered one item regardless??

It typically is one manu coupon allowed per item/bar code scanned. A twin pack item rings up as 1 item/bar code, so 1 coupon would normally be allowed.

I would have thought it would only be one coupon per a package as well. Plus, one of them is usually tagged the "free with purchase" item so it might not be included for the coupons. Still, if the store let you do that then it is great. Generally though I don't think they would do it.

I always figured something like that was one item with a free bonus attached to it... so I'd only use one coupon and be thrilled that I had the free trial sized item.

Oh I'm thrilled at having it, please don't take me wrong! I was just honestly curious, since both items in the case of the razors were separate name brands.

Maybe I just had a cashier that wasn't paying attention! Actually...I know she wasn't b/c of other things that happened (like she didn't even ring up half my order, but pushed my coupons through - I did go to customer service and paid for the rest of it though.
