All the time I had planned to spend crafting in January went to organizing instead. I actually got rid of several "projects" that were taking up space in my garage and in my brain. I'm simplifying. Still want to make some pretty stuff, though! What are your crafty goals this month? Be sure to check out THIS THREAD for some great Valentine's crafts! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Preparing to do my first craft show in May. Zipper pouches and small fun tote bags are on the agenda. ForumRunner_20150203_160215.jpg ForumRunner_20150203_160244.jpg Both of these are already sold, but are what I am making. Both are lined and the tote has quilt batting too. The rest of the tote bags are going to have webbing handles, I don't like turning handles. |

Where did you find that Frozen fabric? My daughters are obsessed and I make little bags like that for them all the time.

That fabric came from Walmart. Joanns had it but for more money, I think I saw it on Hancocks site as well.

This was a joint project between my husband and myself, instigated by me, but he's an engineer so I did rely on his superior understanding of volts and ohms. Starting point: a silicone cake pan from salvation army, and some nichrome wire soldered to some battery leads: ![]() I traced my feet onto the pan, cut that and sewed it into a flannel sandwich, and sewed the wire down (traded for a longer wire after some trial and error): ![]() Added in a fuse for safety: ![]() My husband soldered all that to a battery pack, I popped in rechargeable Li batteries, and today I went for a 4 mile walk in the 15 degree weather, with toasty warm feet! One side here shows the batteries, the other shows it tucked into a fabric loop I used like a leg scrunchy purse, sort of, to tuck the battery holder away. ![]() Last edited by Jakejake; 02-17-2015 at 04:00 PM. |
