I'm teaching a few family members tomorrow about using coupons. Very informal and low-key... no need for power point, etc. - plus I am going to their locale, so I can't take my stockpile. Lost my pics from the last shopping spree, so can't show them that either. This is my first time teaching and I would like to expand as time goes on. a few other people have asked me to teach them. I know one of the main responses is going to be the time involved - particularly if someone has small children, works full-time outside the home, etc. I consider couponing a part-time job, but my children are grown.
Any ideas, suggestions, handouts, etc. would be appreciated.

I have been thinking about trying to teach some type of couponing class too. You might want to contact your local university to see if they have some type of "leisure learning" class. You could offer to teach it and they do the advertising...at least at my university. I think you get a small amount of the proceeds from the class...might not be a bad way to get started. Even a church might work too...you could teach a class in the Sunday school rooms...you would have to talk to the minister etc...of course.

My friends all give me grief about the time involved, too. I rarely sit down and do all my clipping, sorting, filing, planning all at one time. I guess if I added up the 10 or 15 minutes here and there, it would be a lot of time. But I reached a point where I enjoy doing it, just like I would enjoy another kind of hobby.
And as for the people that suggest I could get a part time job and bring in more money, I tell them when they find a job where I can work the same hours and watch my kiddo at the same time, let me know.
