| Why do we have to buy the whole paper?
Why can't we just get a subscription to SS/RP for their Sunday coupons? Who needs 10 sunday papers? (or more!?!?!?) It seems like we should be able to just buy that section of it. I thinks its a scam by the newspapers to get us to buy the whole thing..... ! Can someone look into this, Queenbear? (HInt, hint!) |

honestly I would pay for the whole darn paper if they would just leave the Qs only....its so bulky it takes up a ton of space in the garbage can, I NEVER read it, I go straight to the Qs and then to the trash can with the rest

Of course, I am lucky...I live in California and there is a Starbucks every ten feet. I am amazed that there are that many papers just sitting in the recycling bin right by the door!

I too hate that I have to pay for the entire paper. Period. Especially when I want multiples. But I just wanted to remind everyone that it's paper. It's recycleable! My son is a Boy Scout and this is one of the many ways that they raise money for the troop. In fact we depend on the families and friends to save papers and throw them in the big bin out front of where the meetings are held. Once a week...it's easy, keeps down YOUR clutter and more importantly EARNS MONEY for the troop/unit/school/church whatever - not to mention environmently friendly!

I always recycle the five or ten papers I buy every Sunday. But I have to agree that I wish we could just subscribe to the inserts.

I guess we have to remember the inserts are free we just have to buy the paper they come in, coupons can NOT be sold. The new cleanteam even say they can't be auctioned.

Yes, remember, the papers are recycleable! I only buy one, unless there is like a REALLY good coupon that I neeed, otherwise my dad gets me 1-2 from his work. I really don't need that many inserts, because it's only me and the fiance and if I really want one in a huge amount, I know someone is trading one somewhere. But I love getting them at Walmart, around here they are only .99! for early sundays and sundays

![]() It seems so wastful! I have tried to give them to WM's greeter to give to customers. They can't do that. I said that I was just going to throw them away - would they like to leave them in the break room? No, they can't do that either. I offered one to another customer as we were leaving the store. She looked at me as if she suspected that I was trying to get her to come closer so I could do something horrible to her. She took the paper, but almost ran away from me. I left them in the shopping cart in the cart corral once, thinking that someone who wanted one might find them. Bad idea. I went back for more later and the greeter told me that someone stole papers earlier that day, took out the inserts, and left the rest! I have no idea why they thought that they were stolen. Oh well, into the recyling bin they go. |

| All coupons say not to be sold, that is why even coupon clippers we pay processing and shipping and handling. Maybe you should ask the local newspaper about just giving you some.

What does SS and RP stand for? (I'm new here) I can't even subscribe to just the Sunday paper in my town. I am not going to pay over $150 to get a newspaper every day when I don't even read the paper. |

| I think the newspaper people could be kind enough to charge us a small "handling" fee for just the inserts. That way it would be legal, and everybody would be happy!

I actually tried to act contact the people who distribute the Smart Source inserts, and one of them was kind enough to call me back. They told me that their contract with the newspapers requires them to only distribute the inserts using newspapers, and that they unfortunately cannot distribute them any other way. |

I would recycle mine but we don't have recycling here......I still don't understand how in todays world a city of 80k people doesn't have recycling!! I've even contacted the trash companies in the phone book and all but 1 laughed at me and the 1 said they are in process of setting up their own recycle program because the city wasn't on board with the idea

What about the people that get the inserts mailed to them? How does that work? I think I heard it's only in certain parts of the country...why? and what parts? how do we know if we live in one of those places that does?

I come across the same problem. Thankfully, my Mum & Grandmother pass theirs along. I've also heard of people going to the distribution centers to go through 'leftovers' from previous days to find extra inserts.

Sometimes I buy my newspapers at one of our local gas stations that is always busy. I don't read the papers so I go to my car and pull out all the coupon inserts and sales flyers I need. Then I take the papers back inside and give them to the cashier. She saves them for the customers that come in to buy the Sunday paper and don't mind the coupons being removed. Doing this helps me to save others $1.50 and not be wasteful. It's a way to be a blessing to others and every bit of savings for all of us helps tremendously!

I do buy the entire paper every week and sometimes more then one.. About once a month I take the papers to the Humane Society.. They always take them because we have so many animals that need homes around here... I have adopted two pets from there and since we dont want anymore pets this is my way of still helping them out. |

1.Your school's art department! My DD's school loves them because they are compact, neat and they go through a ton of these. 2.Your local pet shelter also could use them. 3.If you have a low income assisted living facility they would probably like them, people from my generation love to read the paper! Or ask the homeless shelter, women's shelter when you drop your donations. 4. If you have a high school ask, they may need them. Our paper has a program to provide newspapers in schools to use in classroom lessons. 5. Craigs list! you may have a boy or girl scout troop that has a fundraising effort that you wouldn't necessarily know about. How about some other suggestions guys? |
