| Losing Coupon Organizing Momentum
I have been couponing for almost a year now and am finding myself slacking in the organization area. It's getting so bad that I don’t clip my coupons until Monday/Tuesday night and organize them Thursday/Friday night, when the sales are almost over! However, when there is a deal, I will go through my big stack of clipped coupons to get what I need for the deal. Right now, I have two full wipe tubs full of clipped coupons that I need to organize and put into my coupon binder. Why am I losing momemtum? Have you had these highs and lows that I am going through? |

It's the same for me. I'm behind by three weeks now. I think it's because of the rising cost of everything, that I have cut my shopping to twice a month instead of weekly. I might have to cut it back to once a month if gas keeps going up. I live in rural country, so have to drive an hour to walmart, or target. I don't have WG or CVS, I'm so jealous of the ones that have them. Lynda |

I ready somewhere that they had stopped cutting coupons , they just file the inserts by date and then cut out the coupons when they are needed..maybe a new system would help? I too have a huge "pile to file" I've always detested filing and coupon filing isn't any better than any other filing..except for the monetary reward.

I do, or dont do, both! Still lacking in the ability to cut and file, or lable and file. Now my binder is so full of insert pages I need another one!

Lately I have been cutting out what I know I will use right away. The others I keep in the inserts for possible trades. I then clip and file the inserts about 3 weeks after I got them. It is really overwhelming to clip and organize every week, and I think it is easy to find the insert and the coupon I need for a deal if the insert is still intact.

My problem is taking the time to go through and remove expired ones. Cub takes them 90 days past expiration, so then I keep coupons, but then I end up sith so many. It is also annoying to have all those in there when I am at other stores that don't take expired coupons

I like the not cutting them and filing the inserts. I might try that.

I put my coupons in on Tuesday and do my shopping on Wednesday. I only organize the coupons I am planning on using that day- it may also be because I only have Wal Mart and local grocery stores. For example, when I go to Wal Mart, which I have a page protector for- I will have- post its, Durex, Ky, Grillin beans, Dove cream oil, Dove cool moisture, Clean and Clear and some various coupons. I do still check prices but I no longer walk all over the store, I go get what I have coupons for, get what I have planned to cover the overages, etc. Everyone shops differently, eats differently, etc so I find this is the best way for me. The other coupons are still in the inserts with the date on the front. If I read there is a deal somewhere then I will go to the inserts but usually only r twice a month. I kind of have other coupons memorized or when someone is looking for something it helps if they put when the coupon came out.
