Nice post Noahsmom!! great info in one spot for those new to couponing!!!! I personally like the zippered binder and the baseball card pages. Minimum should be a 2 inch ring, 3 inches once you go full tilt One thing I have found though, is that I like the brand CaseIt the best- they come with a handle and a strap to carry it over your shoulder!! like this one:http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...DL._SS500_.jpg

Great post of links! I just burst out of another binder today. Ripped at the zipper like my old one I had for 10 years. This one was a newer Mead but I must have put too much stress on it as it burst at the zipper on the side. I searched a little bit and found a binder called Case-It and it looks promising to get all my q's in one binder. So for the time being, I put my coupons into two different binders today... one for food and one for non-food. This is just a temporary fix until I can get a bigger binder. For anyone who wants to know how to set up a binder with categories, etc. please see the link in my signature line or go here http://www.afullcup.com/forums/coupo...inder-how.html I included photos, a supply list, etc. Last edited by foggy; 12-17-2008 at 06:58 AM. |

I started in August and liked the set-up of the binder I got on clearance, a 3 inch binder, accordion file in front, lots of pockets, closed with velcro but it didn't close tightly when full. Strap was flimsy but didn't use it. Well, the accordion file ripped away from the binder already, making that part useless. I was keeping 3 ring pencil cases in the pockets for specific stores. The whole thing was ridiculously heavy. And too long to fit in the cart and be able to turn the pages, I had to balance it on top. So looking for something sturdier. I was getting sick of filing each coupon in the baseball pages and had been sorting them into envelopes by category but that takes so long to flip through in the store. I need to find some middle ground. I don't want to hate keeping the binder up enough that I give up entirely. So you experts, if you've tried various systems, why do you love the one you use now? I can see how it's worth getting decent supplies rather than wasting money on stuff that doesn't last. |

the briefcase looks cool but how do you manage that in the cart? Doesn't it keep falling off if you balance it on top and if you tip it to fit it in the seat, the qs would fall out?

![]() I have decided that I love the box method because: 1. I can be a lazy coupon cutter 2. It has proven to be lighter than a binder 3. I am a laphabetizer and can't seem to get beyond that. Hehehe

LOL, you know what my organization method is? A big pile of inserts with the date of the newspaper written on the front page w/ permanent marker. For awhile I kept talking about putting them in a binder, or hanging files or whatever....then realized after a few weeks how easy it is to just grab the pile off the shelf, add this weeks insert to it, and start looking for the ones I need. (seems like most sites, including here, will list deals w/ coupons using the insert type & date....so if they were cut out it'd take longer to find) Not to mention all the extra time to sort them.I do have one of those checkbook sized coupon organizers, got it at SA for $1, that I put random loose coupons in (from mailings, or printed with your receipt). But for the newspaper ones, my big ol' pile works just fine for me. |

I always try and plan my trip, what Qs I'll need, and put those in a small cheap Q holder. But I've learned to take big binder with me and leave in the car, too. Sometimes things are on clearance or sale that wasn't published in the weekly flyer. It's far easier to run out to car, and grab said Q then go home and try and get back to store later. HTH, Lauren
