I have recieved envies of roaks and trades and I tell you it's fraustraing to figure out who sent what!!
So Pls Pls I'm begging pls put your screen name on all your envies you send out!!
Also, If you make a trade pls don't wait a week or more to send out the other person's trade..It's fraustring to make a trade for that week's deals and you don't have the coupons till 2 weeks later....Pls be respectful to the other reciepient (sp?) You are making a trade with..

I have yet to recieve some of my coupons that I made a trade with last week for a sale ....that I couldn't take advange of b/c of non coupons.

FYI there are these great trader cards for when you make a trade...It makes it soo much easier to send out trades w/screen names

I hear ya!! Has anyone ever left a negative on a trade? What amount of time do you think is acceptable to wait for the envie to arrive before leaving a negative? Of course, communication is essential, but sometimes people don't respond to their PM's.

Honestly I wait 10 days.. then contact the person and ask what is up... I think we all know things come up.. I usually give them a couple days to respond.

I have never had to leave a negative though.. I have always worked it out...

As a general rule, I keep my pms on trades until I receive the envie. That way, I can look up who sent it to me when I get one without a screen name on it. It happens ALL the time. It kills me when there is NO screen name and NO return address!

Sometimes the slowness is really due to the mail system. I knwo one week I dropped 15 envies in the mail.. The quickest arrived the next day.. the longest didnt arrive for 12 days... All had sufficient postage etc... For whatever reason the one envie was just taking its sweet time getting to its new home...

So I guess dont jump to the conclusion it is the other trader.. contact them and see what is up.. Also when making a trade, state that you need these pronto.. At least then they know...

This has happened to me a couple times, too. I don't understand why people think it is OK to wait until they get the other person's trade before they sent out theirs. What if we ALL were waiting to get the other half of the trade? We'd never actually end up trading!

If it is a trade.. there should be no waiting.. if that is the case.. I would be furious...

I was in no way of bashing anyone..and I believe the mail service is slow....but alot of times I recieve the other's trader rating for me like say 5 days after I first send it off and recieve their envie two weeks later...I just feel like sometimes some people on the other end wait till they get their envie then send out yours is all...

Ya if they are holding the envie till they get yours.. that isnt cool unless prior arrangements were made..

but I would contact the trader when there is an issue like that.. be sure it is addressed....

Wow, I hadn't even thought of that. I have a feeling this could be happening to me right now. In the future, I guess I will make it clear that I would like for envies to be sent out at earliest possible convenience.

The couple of times it has happened to me, I've been told, "It will be in the mail tomorrow!" but then I notice the postmark is the same day I got the trader notification thanking me for the trade to them.

On the other hand....I don't want to "rock the boat"!

My thoughts extacally Mandiedq Same thing here!!! I was suppose to recieve a trade 2 weeks ago and finally got them today post mark was Friday there was no way I could do last week's deal getting my coupons today.

Something like that I would definitely be a lil miffed.. but would contact the trader and see what was up... Make sure something tragic didnt happen preventing her from sending on time and what not (granted if it did .. she should notify you)...

Another thing on your next trade... lets just say you want something from a list I have up FSOT... and you make an offer to me to trade coupons for coupons.. When you make the offer... specify that the coupons need to arrive by X date... meaning you want it sent out ASAP.. if they cant agree you dont want the trade... Be sure to be specific.. I dont think you should have to be specific.. I think all trades should be sent out ASAP.. however I know I have hit snags on a few of my trades...

Just be honest with the trader and ask what was up.. if you feel you didnt rec. in a timely manner leave neutral or negative.. whichever you feel is appropriate and state why.. This will also help future traders know what to look out for.. I know before I make a trade I will check the rating...

I definitely subscribe to the "don't want to rock the boat mentality", but wouldn't it be beneficial to "warn" others about this through the feedback system? Maybe a neutral? (Of course, make sure extenuating circumstances don't apply). I certainly don't want to trade w/ people that don't mail their envies out within 2-3 (postal) days of agreeing to a trade. I give what I expect to get, and I usually mail my envies out the next day, or 2 days at most.

All kidding aside. I think that's good advice to follow. You never know what could have happened.

I haven't read the trading guidelines in the FSOT forum lately. Is it explicitly stated that those trades should go out immediately and not wait until they've received the trade? (that's worded awkwardly, I know)

Well I know sometimes.. only when agreed to prior.. a trader will hold the envie till they get their end ... usually if the trader has no rating.. or if money is comign for the coupons...

So there are cases when it is legit to wait.. however BOTH parties should know that one is waiting..

I agree. But ONLY when it is is previously stated "I'm waiting until I get yours to send it out." Sounds like that wasn't the case here. You are right though. Sometimes that's appropriate!

AFC has user cards made especially for trades! Personally I created return address labels that inlcude my user id. if I use free return address labels I add my user id. It only takes a second. I don't save my PMs & don't have time to seacrh them to figure out who I traded with. I am trading more now so I am starting a spreadhseet to kee track of all steps. i.e. userid, when I sent, what I traded, what was traded to me, when rcvd, feedback left. It is the only way I can keep track of all my trades. I am always afraid I forgot to send something.

I sent out SEVERAL RAOKs a month or so ago. I was surprised that only about half of them left feedback. I even sent them a pm to remind them. I got up to about 3/4 of them then. Oh, well.

I always write "mandiedq-AFC" on the back of the envie.

I don't want to make a big ole' "Stink" about the whole issue,but I felt that the issue had to be addressed..I am pretty upset about the whole issue and it has affected me.
We both agreed that the envies would be sent out the next morning and wasn't. I don't have a high trader rating,but I do have a very trusting relationship with the people I deal with. I do everything I am suppose to do to make the trade go smoothly and to hold up to my word for delievering the said coupons. I have no intent to get any "1" Person out in trouble ,but to resolve the issue before it gets out of hand.

My thing though is.. if you had a trade go that way... and they were just sent late because.... in the future if I have a trade with that person.. it is something that through trader rating I would know about and could address before agreeing to the trade...

Now I will trade with anyone... but if someone has a couple ratings where there end was sent later.. I know not to trade for coupons that I would want this week... KWIM...

Me too ...I slide in a trader card and put twilcn@afc on the back. Just to be sure they know.

The reasons I don't use a trader card:
1. They weight too much when you need every fraction of an ounce to put as many coupons as possible in a folder.
2. It costs $ to print them out (call me frugal)
3. I'm lazy
