My first suggestion - start cutting coupons for items that you normally buy with or without a coupon. (we always buy silk soy milk, so I am always stocked on coupons for it). Another suggestion - post a wishlist on the wishlist forum so that we can see what you are looking for. Members can trade coupons with you or send an RAOK (Random Act of Kindness) of coupons to get you started. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions

![]() to start buy the sunday paper and clip those... also look around in the stores for coupons... they have those lil red machines (blinkie machines) that dispense coupons. It will only take a couple weeks before you have a stack of coupons... NOTE: Coupons are not put out on holiday weekends.... |

Haley, thank you for asking that question. I also am new and I am feeling like a country girl that has just come to the city. I think it is going to take me all afternoon just to travel around this site to get the feel of it. Thank you all who answered Haley's question. It is helping me also. Nana |

Another great way to get coupons is printable ones. There are several available in the printable coupons forum under the bargain center. I especially like the Betty Crocker ones. You will want to make sure your store accepts printable coupons. Many stores like Target and CVS do. Some grocery stores do not. Another option is under the coupons forum there are lists for company e-mails where you can e-mail your favorite companies, complement them and request coupons - it seems like some people have great success with that. |

Hi everyone, Thanks for the tips, this week was my first time using coupons, and I saved about 120$... granted I bought a couple of things that I normally wouldnt, but they were sooooo cheap I couldnt help it. I'd start to read some drugstore forum such as Walgreens and CVS. There are SO many free items and Money makers to get you start getting free stuff without spending a lot and build your confidence up! Mean while, collecting and keeping ALL inserts, cutting and sorting them out, going through data base here and build your own coupon binder. Also make a list of the top 10-20 items you buy on weekly or monthly bases and find their lowest price (free is always good) and stick with that when you using your coupon. After a while, you will know when to buy & stock. Warning, couponing could be VERY addicting.

Get yourself something to organize your coupons in. If you are just starting out get a small coupon holder from target, wallmart, walgreens, wherever you can find one. Start small to get organized. Organized is key to this. Then if you buy or order the sunday paper with the coupons buy extras or ask others for their coupons if they do not intend to use them. Or there is lots of internet printed coupons too. Keep reading stuff on here and posting questions. No question is a dumb question here. We are all here to help and support. Good luck. |
