Keeping inserts together?

Is it easier to clip all your coupons and put them in a binder or keep the inserts together? I would like to be able to keep them together. How do I do that?

Years ago I cut coupons & put them in a binder, but it didn't last long for me. The time it took every week to cut & organize the coupons was hard to keep up with.
I now keep them uncut in hanging folders by date in a file tote box. I put the current inserts in the front & write the date on the first insert with a sharpie so it's easy to see.
The only downside for me is, when I'm in the store & see something I know I have a coupon for...it's at home. If I had a binder, it would be with me.

I do a bit of both... I clip & file some and I also leave some as whole inserts and label them by date (depending on how many papers I buy that week).

It all depends on how you shop and what you prefer. Everyone is different. I have my coupon box that I put in my truck whenever I leave the house. This way if I see a sale that wasn't advertised, the coupon is right there for me =o)

I started off keeping the inserts by date, because that's how the coupon site I signed up for advised and organized their lists. I dropped the coupon site after the free intro period though, because I found when they said RP or SS on such and such date for such and such coupon, I couldn't always find it. Very frustrating. Then other times things would be on sale at my local store, or closeout or whatever, and there was nothing on my list about it, but I'd think I'm sure I saw that coupon somewhere and either have to research it online or page through all my inserts. Of course I'd have to go home and do it, then hope I'd have a chance to get back to the store for the deal.

Now that I get two papers - one local and one from the "big city" nearby - I can see why I got so frustrated. I'll get a Smart Source (for example) in each paper and they will NOT be exactly the same!

Now I clip all the coupons I think I'd be interested in and pass the rest of the insert on to my friends to go through. My friends and I trade coupons, and I print a lot of coupons, so that is another good reason to go ahead and clip, since I will have loose coupons to keep track of anyway.

I use 2 cheapie photo albums that I got from Dollar General - one for food & one for non-food. I'll probably find a more traditional coupon wallet like my mom had when I was a kid that snapped onto the cart, but not until my photo albums are falling apart!

I don't think it is that big a deal to purge expireds, since my store takes expireds up to 2 weeks after expiration, I don't have to go through my stash quite so often.

I do this exact thing. But i also cut everything i think ill use or need before filing the insert and put in binder. I have also kept 3 envies of household items, food items, and health and beauty items instead of filing the binder. it helps and hinders depending on how you look at it. they are all right there but u have to look through them a 100 times. So its all trial and error to see what you like!

I get a lot of inserts so I keep them whole in a few boxes by my computer. I rubberband like inserts together and then put them in the box by their date. I also put a note on top stating which week and region they are so I'm not trying to read the tiny print on the edge of the inserts. Once I clip anything out I put them in one of those expanding file cases. I only clip when I'm going to use the coupon
