| One more question for the night, what do you do to try to make sure you don't have so many coupons that expire? Do you have a system? And, do you just use them to try to get trial size things if you don't use on regular size items?? Thanks, Monica |

Be honest with ya and I am probably in the minority here, since I am not shopping for a lot of people I am more of a pick and chooser. I usually look at previews for awesome deals and then order Qs off the Bay. Wgas, CVS and RA have ad previews on the web weeks in advance so ordering Qs just works better for me. Printables I do occassionally have some that are going to expire and I used to get that NOOOOO I CAN"T LET THIS Q DIE. Forcing a deal though sometimes just isn't worth it just let it die and throw it away if you don't need the item.

I have a large accordian style "purse"(purchased at Office Depot). This way I always have all of my coupons with me. The q's I know I want to use get divided into each month's own food, cold items & non food envies. The q's I would prefer to trade, give away or catch the fab deal on are divided by categories at the back of the purse. I go through & weed out the expired & send them to the military overseas. When you sort by date, you can always use afc's database to see if you have a q & where it is filed. (Helpful since the memory is on auto pilot most of the time.) Hope it helps!

Unless it's a seasonal item (sunscreen, soda, ...), I don't worry too much about soon to expire because there will be a new coupon in the next circular. The times to consider using a soon to expire are brand new products. Usually there are very high $ Q's when a product is first introduced for sale -- we'll never see such great offers again. If a product you always buy has a good Q, maybe use it. But for a typical $off 1, or $ off 2; for most products, you'll see them come around again and again. Don't feel compelled to buy something just because a coupon is expiring. That's part of the pricing game (strategy). These are my opinions, I don't stockpile much; maybe not the way everyone does their shopping.

I really do not worry too much when coupons expire. I send mine overseas to the military and know that I will get the q's again before another sale comes. Gotta love sales cycles.

since I noticed that majority of coupons now have short expiration dates with more and more expiring in a week or two, I have gotten used to them. I don't worry about expiration dates except for a few IPs I print because I dread wasting ink and paper for those. I don't print unless I am sure I will use them immediately.

| To be honest with you, I hate going through and weeding out my coupons, but combining it with doing something else that I need to do makes it go faster. I either call my mom or dad and visit with them on the phone, or watch swagbucks tv for points!

I use the binder method for my coupons and once or twice a month, I go thru and pull out any coupons that are about to expire within 2-3 weeks and put them in a little accordion container. Then at the end of that time period I can pull them out and put them with my other expired coupons to maid overseas military. Hope this helps.

For me, if I know a Q is going to expire before a good sale comes on I'll just get it at regular price, but the smallest one that I can so the coupon goes farther. Always, always try and get the smallest item the Q will allow because your coupon will go farther that way. Duplicate coupons will let you get more small items so it will equal the bigger item, but cheaper

I'm like the majority...I don't really worry too much about expiring coupons unless it's a coupon for a free item or something that we use all the time and I've got to buy it anyway. I don't cut until I need a coupon (use the filing the insert by date method) and I use coupon databases extensively. I've built a stockpile so now I can afford to wait until there's a great price on an item before I buy. I also frequent a facebook group of couponers and we trade coupons. So if it's a good coupon that I know I don't need and it's expiring soon - I'll post it on that page and trade with another couponer. I've learned that deals come and go - if you miss one, another one will come along. And if it's not quite as good as the last one...so what. Chasing deals is stressful. Relax, enjoy couponing and save money! |

If I am out shopping with my binder and notice that a coupon is about to expire with in the next day or so and I don't have any plans to use it I play coupon fairy and put the coupon with the item on the shelf. Maybe I didn't get to use it, but someone else might and it's out of my binder!
