I am new to couponing for grocery items. I have did many deals with nonfood items and understand the concept of couponing. But what I was wondering is what are the best ways to save on food. I know not to be brand loyal and most of the time buying in bulk is better if you will use it. But what other tips do you all have?

Hi, Many people first check out the store forums for where they shop. You will find alot of information in Couponing 101 or AFC 101

i agree this website is great because you can go to which store you shop the most and see what deals you can get for next to nothing using a coupon and such ! good luck !

Also sometimes buying in bulk is not the best deal. If you have a coupon for $2 off (a good example is the A1 Steak Sauce coupons) and the smaller size is $2.22, and the largest is $4.25 (which were the prices at one store near me) you can buy 3 small ones for a total of 66 cents using 3 coupons. Otherwise I would have spent $2.25 with the coupon for the one big size. So I saved $1.59 by getting 3. If I had more coupons I could have gotten 10 of the smaller bottles for the same price of one big one. So definitely keep your eyes open for that.
