I was just curious how everyone hands their coupons to the cashier? Do you just had them your huge stack? one by one? a few at a time? TIA

I hand over 3 or 4 at a time. The times that I did hand over a big stack, one always got missed or there was some type of confusion. It just works out better for me and the cashier if I hand over small amounts at a time.

I usually hand over all of them, but I don't usually have tons of them. Probably never more than 20 at once and usually under 10.

I always use a ton of coupons and I prefer to hand them over 4-5 fanned out at a time. I've had some get stuck, not scanned ect ect and it's just easier this way.

I hand all of them over at once. I watch as they scan them and know right away if there is an issue and if there is most times the cashiers just push the coupon through.

I too hand them off all at the end off the sale and watch carefully to make sure they all get scanned, because depending on who's scanning the coupons, some people are just better than others you know?

When I have a coupon for a free Item or buy one get one free, I always hand those over first to get that out of the way, then I hand over all the other coupons. I also do price match and I always do that last.

P.S. I almost forgot, always try to be courtious to your checkers and say thank you with a smile! These people take alot of heat because of the stress everyone seems to be under these day's due to the economy. Kindness goes along way and they will remember you next time you show up at their station.

I always hand all mine, but I do watch closely. I try to count how much savings w/the coupons and make sure it matches w/my final total. I've only had one time where a cashier missed a couple, but she was more than happy to go through the receipt to find the ones she missed. I always hand over my bogos and frees first and let the cashier know that those items are coming. Sometimes they brush me off though until the end. Then they are asking how much the items were. Oh well. I agree w/deptla! I am always kind, and sometimes I will give my regular cashiers some coupons for frees. It's definitely worth it to be nice. I've got 5 regular cashiers now that I go to if they are there and I have the best experiences w/them. I also e-mail corp. and let them know who the cashiers are and compliment them. I know WM has shown the cashiers my letters and I have had even better shopping experiences w/those cashiers. If you are rude ( I admit, I got frustrated w/ a cashier once w/ the "one per purchase" dilemma) then they might not be so nice the next time. I learned that lesson the hard way.

LOL Trogdor..I just drew a picture of Trogdor the cartoon for my best friend two days ago and didn't even know what a Trogdor was.. too funny!Today, I stopped at the store on my way home and I had severallll coupons, I just handed them all to her at the same time before she started scanning my goods. I'm a coupon newbie too just learning the ropes of how to make them REALLY work for me..I'm catching on fast and saving LOTS of money..I got $84.00 worth of groceries for $47.00 today with combinations of the store sales and my coupons, I was quite pleased! ![]() Brooke |

I always do it one at a time, even though some cashiers want me to hand them all at once...they always end up missing one! I never have too many q's though, maybe 25 at the most.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I just did my first Target trip and handed the cashier all my coupons, about 25, and she missed one. It was a $4 off q, so I was a little bummed even though it was still a great trip. So I don't know if I should hand the best Q's at the beginning or at the end? P.S. GaPeach, did you draw the half man half dragon?

When I have a coupon for BOGO or free I point it out to the cashier and usually do them last so I am not so distracted.

i hand mine 3-4 at a time....learned the hard way that if I hand the whole stack, some of them get stuck together. I also count them all before getting to the register.....just to make sure they all came off.

If I have a free Q I give it to the cashier when she scans the item. I give the rest of them all at once. I count how many Q's I have and then count them as they are scanned. I also watch for the correct amounts being taken off.

I use a lot of coupons usually on trips I make. So I had them over one at a time, or if it is a cashier I trust then I might give them all my coupons but I still add up total amount before doing so. This way I know all of my coupons were accounted for, and I don't have to go to cs to get it straightened out.

| handing your coupons
Hand them all your coupons at once. Just watch them and make sure they scan everyone. Hand them all to them after your total. If you hand them to them in the beginning they will forget and say its to let and make you stand in line at customer service. When getting an item for free remember the price and make them scan that last so you can see the price and make sure they write it in the slot. Most importantly watch them and look for sales. I recently stocked up on cereal thats good for a year. I got them for a $1.00 a box. With three kids I save anywhere from $10-$25 in coupons every two weeks depend on sales. Alot of people honor other store prices and will give you the same price if you show them the ad especially walmart.

I'm new at this, but I've handed them over all at once. I just check my receipts before I drive away. But I never have more than 20 or so coupons at once, as my store only doubles 20 coupons in one order.
