Okay, I'm giving couponing a try! My dh's salary has gone down 10% since December and we need to save as much as possible. Being organized is the key to starting, right? I have a binder and empty baseball-card holder sheets, so please tell me how to organize my coupons. The weekly mailers from each store seem to just have that week's coupons... Do you have a weekly coupon sheet from each store? The mfg coupons seem to have the longest expir. date, so I assume those go by product? Why do you save/cut coupons for stuff you don't use? |

I organize mine by categories...moving the closes expiration dates to the front of each category while putting in the new coupons...for the ones i do not use i have a filing folder with categories in it as well...I have two binders one for food and one for non-food. Hope this helps some!! I do not oranize by store since i am not store loyal and i shop at more than one store. I cut all of my coupons out.

Since I do most of my grocery shopping at one store, I organize by the layout of the store. (I got this hint from Bellasmama.) It sure does make a difference because you just go page by page as you walk the store and you don't miss anything.

You will figure out what works for you but this is how I got started. Hope this helps

I have mine in a (Target dollar bin) pocket expanding thing. They are in certain categories: Personal, Rx, Can/Box, House ware, etc. I cut the Qs and put in those piles, then I have a sheet I have made up that list all Qs in that section by what it is, details if any (wyb 2), amount, expiration date. Each category from above has it's own sheet. Then I file those in my Target holder. I keep the sheet of paper in a notebook with all sale ads and anything I get off AFC to use and match up my Qs. (thanks to all for doing that leg work for us!) Then I sit down on Sunday afternoon, go through ads, and mark with marker on ad what I have according to what is on my sheets and what I have printed off from AFC. I don't like to carry my Target holder everywhere, afraid I will leave it or something like that. I then can go through my Qs give to my wonderful DH and he can shop with and not have to carry the notebook or Target holder. (He really doesn't like carrying that, but has gotten better!)

I have mine in a binder and I used to use baseball card holders, but I didn't like having to fold my coupons. So now I have moved on to picture sheets 4x6 in my binder. I also organize mine by aisles -- makes it very easy!! Cindy |

I organize mine by product and categories: ie: toothpaste/toothbrush then bodywash, deodorant.... Then I keep the expiration dates expiring soonest closest... You'll get the hang of it Good luck!

I organized mine alphabetically. I have all of my baby coupons in the very front of the binder, a page or two for Frees, then the misc. coupons that are good on various products. I have the rest in alphabetical with food page(s) before the non-food page(s). It's definitely what works for me... For now! |

I have mine organized in a coupon organizer by category. I really don't have all that many coupons right now and it works well for me. There are people who organize theirs by expiration date, but I find myself searching through them all to find the one I need when I do that. I'd rather have them categorized. Even when I was *heavily* into couponing several years ago and had LOTS of coupons, I did it this way. It's just what works best for me. My organizer hangs on the cart handle and has a fold out pocket where I put the coupons I'm using on that trip. Renee |

I organize by category and try to keep brands together, I just recently moved all health & beauty into its own binder because it was taking too much room with the food sections. This way I think of it as my "drugstore binder".

I organize it by category except for the over the counter meds. Those are alphabetized.
