| Coupon organizer
Any suggestions for the best coupon organizer? I've seen some on ebay, binders, boxes, etc. What is the best organizer that can be used easily, hold lots of coupons and transport to the grocery?

I think it's really a matter of personal preference. I use a binder and love it. I do suggest, if you end up going with a binder, that you get one with a handle on it. That's the one thing I wish I had with mine.

Welcome to AFC! There are several different ways to organize your coupons and unfortunately you will probably have to go with trial and error to figure out which is the best method for you. If you go HERE you can get some ideas of what might work for you. Good luck and happy couponing!

Im going to agree with the other posters. Its really up to the person. For some the binder doesnt work. I, myself love the binder method. I've used the accordian coupon holders but outgrow them very fast and I cant stand digging through a huge stack of coupons to find out I dont have that coupon I was looking for.

I also like the binder method. I fashioned mine after a fellow afcer, Foggy(who was actually the creator of the coupon binder!). Here is her instructions if you are interested: http://www.afullcup.com/forums/coupo...inder-how.html Thanks foggy!

Like others have said, the binder method doesn't work for everyone but for those who are diligent with it and don't care to get "looks" carrying it into the store, it works very well. Just flip a page and you can see your coupons. To the poster above suggesting getting a binder with a handle. I would suggest that as well but if you can't find a binder with one, use an old purse strap or belt and feed it through the spine of the binder to make a shoulder strap to carry it. Imashopper gave you a link to my thread... check it out and if you have any questions regarding it, feel free to send me a pm about it. |

I highly suggest the binder method, after trying every other thing I could think of and being frustrated, I eventually tried it and it. I also make a cute zippered binder all setup and ready to save $. Let me know if you'd like to see pics, they're anything but ordinary! Right now I have Pink, Purple or Grey available to purchase.

For me I use the plastic check organizers that you can get at WalMart. I have 3 different colors. Pink for food, blue for non-food and a purple one for store coupons and forms. I also leave the front pocket empty in all of them to place the ones in until i can file them excpet the purple one I put couons in that i am using that trip as I pull them out. The binder did not work for me at all. it was to bulky for me at times to carry around. I was always forgetting it also at homes.

| Binder for me...
I used to use a shoe box with self-made dividers...I loved it and I do miss it sometimes - but, I have a 2 year old who loves to see handfuls of Mommy's coupons go on the floor - so the binder makes it harder for him to get fistfuls out. I bought my binder from Office Max for around $17 - but, it was well worth it. It has a shoulder strap and a handle...it's about a 3 inch ring size and it has a zippered comp. for my scissors, pens, paper, etc. AND it has an expandable 5 file folder thing too! the brand name is Case-It...so, you can find them online too.

The binder is what works for me! I've been slacking lately and it hasn't been going to the store with me... But those are the days that I have specific coupons with me that I know I will use, etc. ![]() I'm going to get better about it going back to the store though! |

I've been using a binder too. Instead of a handle, I keep it in a large canvas tote bag (LLBean style). I have it right in the kiddy seat and can flip through it easily. The whole thing is oriented sideways so it actually sits on it's spine in the carriage. I like the canvas bag because I don't feel so self conscious and I actually find I can toss extra things like pen, and paper in too. Foggy's instructions helped me a lot. In the end you have to start with what you are comfortable with. Also, start small you can always expand. |

Messenger bags work well with the binder too. I needed something to carry my DS diapers, cups, etc in and this works out well. I don't get too many looks carrying it into the store. Once I get into the store and open the binder though, that is a different story. LOL

Here's a style that is working well for many - expecially for "beginners" and those that don't want the big binder. It allows for alot of personalzation and looks nice too! Handmade Accessories on Etsy - Coupon Organizer Holder by glowgirl16 |

I just recently (like two days ago) upgraded to a binder. I had been using the small accordian file before that. It got very full very fast! However, it might be a good place for you to start. I think I paid $3 for mine at WalMart. It was nice because it fit in my purse (well for a while it did, til it got stuffed so full of HBA I couldn't close it anymore) I think it would be a good place for a beginner to start. You can play around with what categories you want, figure out what categories you're collecting the most coupons, get used to couponing. In a month or so you might outgrow the accordian file and want to move to something else, but by then you'll have a better idea of what will work for you. |
