o.k. a while back, I went to our recycling center, and literally was going thru the dumpsters getting all the coupons out...so then this guy came up and asked me what was I doing, I told him getting the coupons, he started to laugh and started to help me.....then after that he would get all the coupons put them in a pile and drop them off at my house, in big black garbage bag full of coupons, I didn't know what to do with them all..So I told him to stop bringing them for awhile...so now guess what, I have no coupons....only the one Sunday paper that I get....may have to start up with him again...

i called my local distributor and she said that she used to donate the extra Q's to the local churches, but now she can't because of a bunch of fraudulent coupons floating around. I am currently looking into finding a recycling center... to dumpster dive, but I'm having now luck... Also you can check with local school and/or boyscout troops... they often do paper drives for recycling and have HUGE bins full of paper... (I'm new to this area so I haven't been able to find any of these either, but you might have some luck around your area!) You can try to call your local paper and find out who your distributor is. Also I signed up for the washington post to be delviered. I get it for .50 a week (sunday delivery only) for 26 weeks. Also stores in my area have what is called the sunday double, 2 papers for $2. not too bad... but I STILL need to find a recycling center... as I have about 15 papers laying around my house right now, and considering they haven' even een cracked open, except to get out the pack of inserts... i feel guilty just throwing them in the trash every week!

I take PP, GC, or Forever Stamps at 15% face value. A little higher than normal trade, but it takes ALOT of ink and in some cases alot of time. I live in a small town and no the circulation manager. so when there are papers they cant get sale of, she will call me so I can go thru them for the inserts...also my husband delivers the paper for the larger city near me, so I get his extra papers he gets. Check to see where the delivery trucks leave the papers for the carriers (you can find this out from a newspaper person) lots of times they leave extras there for the carriers in case they counted out wrong, they dont want to leave thier carriers short. If there are extra then they dont mind most times if you come in on monday and take them...every monday they have a man come out to clean the papers out and throw them away so they dont mind you getting them, and if you miss the man cleaning, the dumpster is right there LOL...me i dont have to worry about that, i just tell hubby to grab them on his way home!

| Your DH might be right... when someone purchases the paper ask if you can get the coupons section. When I was younger, and lived in the city, I used to ask the person for the employment section. SO I DO KNOW it would work.

I started a recyling program in my classroom this year. They can bring cans, papers, and plastics for extra credit. Not only helping the enviroment and teaching students how easy it really is to recycle, but I score coupons at the same time. I normally haul home 7-8 recycle bags a week to put on out at our curbside recycle program. But of course before I recycle them I pull any and all coupon inserts available!!!!! Some weeks I get really lucky, others are slim. I did get 2 of the $2.50 electrosal coupons this way so that was awesome to me!

I've become friendly with the guy that runs the gas station on the corner near my house. They only have to return the front page to get credit for the unsold papers so I send hubby out Sunday night before they close and they give me whatever inserts they have left.

I heard someone say that they contacted the local newspaper company and they allowed them to take any extras. I emailed my local newspaper but haven't heard anything back yet. Im hoping they get back to me soon because the newspaper headquarters is right around the corner from my house. I could get some exercise in too :-) hahaha

I was bemoaning to myself yesterday that I had no money for extra papers this week and decided I'd try my local Starbucks to see if there were any that had been left (big fat no, again). While I was in there I realized that I could use the GC that I got for my birthday to buy the paper! Woohoo, extra papers with no OOP.

I guess my medical background just can't stand the thought of the dumpster diving. What if someone had put a needle in there and you got stuck? I know it's a slim chance, but still.

| Ahh, I was thinking the same thing. I have a medical background too, and I don't know if I could bring myself to do that. I wish I could, but I think they drill the needle thing into you! LOL

I live at an RV park and people buy their newspapers and then leave the coupons in the coffee room. It is a good way to get coupons.
