an alert has been posted by CIC on the HP paper IPs that was talked about in several threads used previously at WAG and WM to get cheap/free HP paper. Beware since they have been declared as counterfeit. avoid trouble at check out when you're caught trying to redeem them for cheap/free paper, http://www.cents-off.com/doc/Interna...er-14-2008.pdf another counterfeit coupon is for $2 off Mr Clean wipes, http://www.cents-off.com/doc/Reward-PG-October-14-2008.pdf Let's all be vigilant. Ignorance does not get us off the hook if we are caught trying to trade, sell, auction, redeem these coupons. |

Thank you! What's the deal with the Mr Clean wipes though?

from the link, it says there's no legit $2 Mr Clean wipes on pdf approved by the manufacturer. I know most P&G coupons are either homemailers, PG brandsavers or inserts coupons. I wonder if someone will turn in the counterfeiter for $5K reward? |

If it's the HP from months back that came off the HP site-there was 3 coupons $1,$2,$3 so these were legit. I don't know anything about the Mr. Clean coupon.

So can someone explain this to me -- they were a pdf file on the HP website that was good through the end of the year I believe. Why are they counterfeit now? Is it b/c too many were redeemed? It seems like if that's the case there could be a nicer word than counterfeit since those of us who have used them printed them legitimately

I cannot speak for HP but those who doubt it and want to continue using it have their choice. I suggest to call the manufacturer or ask Bud Miller how CIC was able to detect these are counterfeit coupons. AFAIK, if CIC is coordinating with the manufacturer, chances are they have also sent emails to ALL stores informing them to watch out for those IPs. its one's choice now whether they want keep using the IPs after information is spread over the 'net. as it is, many customers are already having a hard time redeeming legit IPs, what more IPs that have been declared counterfeit? |

Wow .... I did not know these HP coupons were out there... thanks for the heads up .... actually a long time ago ( over a year ago) I had a coupon for the the mr. clean wipes that was for $2.00 off but it actually came in the mail to me from P&G it was some home mailer ....... the reason I remember that is was the only time I have ever bought them cause they were cheap ......

I feel bad for using the HP, but I don't guess there is any reason too. It was months ago and they came from the website. I will be throwing those out.... I really need paper too, oh well. Thanks for the info!!!

I think it is crazy how these companies put these coupons on thier website in a .pdf format with long expiration dates and then get upset when people use them! Is it that expensive to use bricks to limit the amount printed? If they choose to use .pdf why can't they put an earlier expire date and update the posted coupons dates so that when they are done reimbursing they can stop posting new coupons? So frustrating for people that use the coupons correctly to get treated as counterfiters just because the companies gave other not so honest people an easy way to cheat the system.

Hopefully, HP reads this and take note of it. we can't control the number of times people will print a coupon saved on pdf version, much less can we control the manner they will use it. people will just do as they please UNTIL they are shut down at the store. then battle ensues. |

This is actually misleading information. These ARE HP released coupons and ARE legit. HP is going to be contacting the CIC in regards to the information posted saying they are counterfeit. This information was per a call to HP from another couponer. The problem with the coupons is that they are being redeemed on the wrong products. IE: the $3 coupon is being redeemed on the approx $4 - $5 paper that is not carried by large retailers like Walmart, Target, etc and HP is not reimbursing them since they do not stock the product. Hopefully Bud and the CIC will be able to clear up the misleading info soon.

Once again just like the Post it coupons-these were from the manufacturer site. I agree that it's not counterfeit-just people aren't using them correctly-And the wording that these are counterfeit would be a wrong term in this in this type situation. I haven't used any of these. I got/and still get free paper from my brother when I need it-he has tons he got given to him.

So, if we are using this coupon correctly ($1.00) then we can still use it?
