| How do I find out?
I took my first real coup0oning trip with my binder to Kroger. I think I did pretty good, but I got really confused while shopping. I had already gone through the sales flyer and matched all of my coupons to purchase those items. As I was walking through the store I noticed that a lot of items were on sale, but not listed in their sale flyer. Are those items good to use coupons on? Is there a way to find a list of those sale items before I go? An example was the Bartilla Pasta was on sale for $1.89 a box instead of $1.99 I think. They had the yellow tab under them with a sale date that expired later in the month. I hope this makes since! Any help would be great!

I'm sure most store have unadvertised specials. You might try and check on their website. My guess is, you won't know until you see it on the shelf.

That's why I like to cut all the coupons and file them and take them with me. You never know what else will be a good deal once you get there, or what you might find in the clearance bins that you might have coupons for, or in the trial size section. I know some people just save their inserts then go back later to cut the coupons, but I don't see how that would work for all the deals that are "happened upon".

Yes, there are specials that aren't advertised. I have a small booklet where I list prices from different stores. This way I'll know if it's really a good deal. I have a set budget for grocieries & I try not to go beyon that but I leave about $10-$15 unaccounted for That way, If I see something I wasn't planning on buying, it won't mess up my buget.

To answer your question about using coupons on sale items, the answer is YES! You can use coupons on sale and clearanced items (and of course reg. priced items, but who does that?). That is the beauty of them. HTH
