| So the "How much do you spend" thread got me thinking.....
I saw the post that monica started about how much do you spend or groceries and let me just say I am so inspired by all of you. Now, I need you all to teach me how to reduce my grocery bills to under a $100. I was reading all of your wonderful posts to my DH last night and we both sat here in shock (in a good way - he he) at what you are all spending compared to what we are doing. I usually spend (now keep in mind that I just recently started couponing) anywhere from $150 to close to $300 (a week!!). We are a family of 5 (well 6 if you count the furry little guy) and I do have 2 kiddos in diapers as well and just the past week or two FINALLY got the smallest off of baby food, BUT it appears that I still need LOTS of help. I also can't believe that most of your HBA stuff is so cheap!! PLEASE share you secrets for such successful shopping, I REALLY need it!! TIA for your help!! Oh and BTW I am happy to say at my last quick shopping trip I did save $28.00 in coupons (but STILL spend $98.00 on the rest and it wasn't even a full order!! UGGGHHHHH, I need help!!!) Stacy |

Great start there!!!! I'd recommend just going to the message board for your favorite store and READ READ READ... start with just one store to work on and figure it all out. Than move on to the next store. I found that working 2-3 new stores at once just messed me up entirely! HAHAHAHA I shop Kroger, CVS, Meijer, Walmart and now Walgreens for my best deals. It's usually a hit and miss cycle though too. On weeks when ALL the stores have great deals I feel so overwhelmed and try to just choose the best for us. Some weeks there's nothing and than it's nice to have a break from all the running around. ![]() You'll get the hang of it soon!!! Your off to a great start and this place is fantastic for finding the best savings tips! |

Please keep one thing in mind when reading post on our savings and totals, we (most) already have a stockpile, which helps when putting deals together. I have been stockpiling for over a year and still spend $300 a month, but am bringing home double, or triple of what I used to. In my area, a small rural town in MN farming country, I have to drive about an hour one way to get to a super walmart, or regular target. I don't have walgreens or cvs at all. I see that you are in PA, if you have a kmart close might want to find out if they are included in the super double promotion. You will be able to get a great stockpile going at a very low price. If you have time read the kmart form on the double promo. So don't get frustrated if your totals don't match ours, our family needs and sizes are not the same. We try to help all of our members find the best deals, at the best prices. Lynda |
