Question VOID warning on Q?

OK, so I must be officially addicted to saving to be posting on Thanksgiving Day! LOL
Anyway, my contributions to the annual "feast" are finished, so I was browsing for Qs I needed. I was particularly interested in the Smart Balance Qs that came out in the 11-20 SS. My paper only had one Smart Balance Q, valued at $1.50 off the milk. The Qs I have ordered have the $1.00 off plus some Smart Balance butter Qs. I decided to look to see who was carrying the $1.50/milk Q, and found them at Coupon Dedes, but noticed that there is now a "Void if reduces retail price below applicable minimum price") -DND"

I assume that means that the coupon is voided if it reduces the milk to "FREE", but seriously, who decides what the "minimum price" should be? I have only gotten the milk "free" once, when Harris Teeter did super doubles on a BOGO, but, still.... If the coupon drops the milk to $1.50 after a BOGO, who's to say that the $1.50/half gallon is priced too low?

Any thoughts?

I interpret it be void if it results in overage. To me the minimum price would be zero, in other words the makers of Smart Balance do not want to pay you to take home their product they want to give it to you free but NOT pay you to take it. Maybe?

That's kind of what I though, too, that as long as there was no overage it would be fine. The only place around here that lets the overage go towards the basket is Walmart, and since they do not double, there is no worry of overage, with the milk anyway.

Some states have laws that dictate a minimum price on milk. PA is one of them. I pay over $4.00 for a gallon of milk, and it never goes on sale.

Northern California is the same on milk and cheese. I remember not too long ago Safeway had a great sale on cheese and they had to mark it up because of some law.

Many stores have their own policy with regards to overage and simply adjusting the coupon to match the sale price. Also note that when a coupon doubles the store doubling the coupon is paying for that not the manufacturer.

There are times that coupons state DND but the store can double if they want because they are eating that cost.

With regards to Dairy companies and the restrictions on milk and cheese you will see that in states that have strict laws that govern the sale of diary.

I haven't ever gotten my Smart Balance free (other milk yes all of the time) per say; but a combination of overage for other coupons could and have made it free.

In fact, I have paid as less as $1.00 for Smart Balance milk did that last week and purchased (15) so I could freeze it for future use.

The point is you can get milk and cheese for free despite what the company and the coupons say you just have to be a savvy shopper.

Well, then, all I can say is thatnk goodness I live in NC. I know we have dairies here, but I'm not aware of any law. I do, however, recall that last shopping trip I made there were signs posted in some of the stores that due to something going on in the MidWest, there was a "rationing" of organic milk.

Makes me want to go out and buy a cow..!
