| advise on how im doing
ive been collecting, reading, researching and of course buying. I'm a newbie and wondering if anyone can give advise on how I did this week. I do a lot of cooking and have a husband, a 2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old. I have marketbasket, hannaford, shaws, target, walgreens and cvs near me. rite aide sort of near me. my husband buys all the meats, storage bags, paper goods, dog food, and a few other misc things at BJ's once a month. dont really want to change that for now unless i find a really good deal less than what he pays. i will occcasionally buy meat like ground turkey, shrimp when i need it from the local grocery store. This week I spent $118.13 on groceries at combo market basket, hannaford, shaws, target and walgreens. Im hoping that I wont have to buy cereal for a month, bread for at least the next week or two (not including current shopping week) and hopefully no snacks for the next couple of weeks to a month. I didnt use tons of coupons, but did use some. i didnt have to buy a 1/2 of a hormel ham for $12 at hannaford, but they were running a sale where you got a bag of frozen veggies and a big crockery containor of mashed for free. most of my shopping was at marketbasket. breakdown sort of is 2 loafs of bread, already had some in refrigerator package of turkey sausage big bags of hannaford honeynut oats and kookies cereal - sale $3.00 2lb bags couple galllons of milk 2 general mill cereals apples 5 lbs fishies tomatoe sauce (free with coupons) onions lots of snacks at target and walgreens using coupons bananas large block of marketbasket sharp cheddar cheese gogurts 2 8 packs unsalted butter cream cheese corn veggie eggs banana pops mac and cheese 12 pack vanilla protein powder mt olive kosher pickles post honeybunch cereal small tin of almonds juiceboxes for kids snacks include coupons i used for 6 boxes of keebler fudge cookies, fishies, rice crispie treats and a some granola bars. I think you did a good job. As long as you are happy with your shopping trips, and are saving money is all that is important. Each of us have different needs for our families. So not all of us are going to buy the same things. As long are you are saving on the things that your family needs, it's a win - win. Lynda |
