I am just wondering if it is coupon fraud or is it OK to stack BOGO's and $1.50 off coupons or any others for that matter. I want to get the best deals just like everyone else but is it really ok? I am pretty new to this but am attached to doing it the right way. Help!

Good to ask those questions, and if in doubt you can ask your manager, but... You are using two different coupons on two different items. One is for the holders and one is for the refills. If you were using $1.50 off refills and using a coupon to get it for free that would raise a red flag AND it wouldn't be accepted by Target's registers, or anyone else's... Glad to hear you want to stay on the high road! |

Check out Target's coupon policy. They permit ONE manufacturer coupon and ONE Target coupon PER ITEM. So, your "buy a tin, get a free refill" coupon is for the refill, and your $1.50/1 coupon is for the tin. While they are related, you are using 1 coupon per item. Lets say you bought 1 tin and 1 refill. You used 1 BOGO and 2 $1.50/1. That's a problem. More coupons than items. To avoid issues, make sure you understand the stated terms on the coupon. It's a legal document. As long as it doesn't say something like "don't use with other coupons" it's OK. Here are the consumer terms on the BOGO blinkie: Limit on coupon per purchase. [purchase means item here, not transaction] Good only in the USA on purchase of brand/size(s) indicated. Void if altered, reproduced, scanned, transferred, sold or auctioned. Any other use constitutes fraud. You pay sales tax. The $1.50/1 states the same consumer terms. Your good, go get your deals.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to print it off and bring it with me to the Target that gave me HUGE issues and told me they would only take 4 of my coupons even though I was buying 20 items. BTW I did NOT clear the shelves, they had just restocked and they were completely FULL to the brim with candles. I ended up walking out with nothing at all.

I think this is a YMMV. Some stores consider the BOGO to be off of 2 items, so you can't use anything else with it. If the store wants to use that rule, then I think they can do it....and I won't argue with them on it. I do reserve the right o be annoyed and leave my purchases, though. ![]() Some Target stores are pitching a fit on the blinkie, though, because it comes up "Item Not Found" and Target Corporate is supporting it. Really dumb. I just avoid those stores and go to the friendly ones. |

Thought i was going to have a similar issue at mu local CVS. The cashier wasn't going to let me use the BOGO coupon and then the 1.50 off Q that was inside the can. She advised it was one per purchase. And i told her, I am making a purchase, 1 candle and 1 refill, it's did not state "transaction". She was somewhat ok, but told me she would have to talk with the manager about changing it , it didnt seem fair. I thought that very very very funny, because if she'd paid more attention to the screen in front of her, My brawny 6 roll pack was on sale for 5.00 but RANG UP FOR 1.09 (savings 9.99). Got home and looked at my reciept when i found it, just about fell over..............

stacking manu BOGO and many $/$ has always been a YMMV issue. It depends on how the coupons is interpreted. Some stores take it as the BOGO coupon covers both items, so it's essentially a 'package' Just make sure you are using the correct coupon...the $1.50/1 coupons I have are for the tins.

the 1.50 q's that are inside the tins are good for ANY Glade scented oil candle holder or refill. Thus you can use it for the glass holder as well as the tins. The cashier called the manager over when using my B1Grefill free. Manager said I could use with the 1.50, no problem. On the free to 3.99 refill, I could only get the 2.50 price. Dah, like I would expect her to give me 3.99 when I only paid 2.50. |

My target said "absolutly not" on using both coupons. Stating I could only use one- they deemed it as a pkg. deal I guess. IW wish all store employees were required to COupon to learn the ropes - !

I have noticed that different stores have different policies on this. Giant Eagle will honor both bogo and money off the one that is not free. Walmart's policy is the bogo coupon counts as the one you use. Kroger and Meijer have the same policy on this as Giant Eagle. This is in my area of course. I guess the moral of this story is. know each store's policy.
Just make sure you are using the correct coupon...the $1.50/1 coupons I have are for the tins.
I agree with A20SomethingMother...you do need to make sure that you read your coupons carefully. I had some coupons from the previous "$1.66 tin sale" that specifally said "Save $1.50 on glade TINS or refills" but it seems like the coupons out of the new tins say "Save $1.50 on ANY Glade Holders or refills." So please make sure that you read the coupon carefully to make sure that you are getting the correct item. |

I have done several transactions with the $1.50 off any scented oil candle holder and also used the blinkie buy one scented candle holder get the refill free. I have been buying 5 glass candle holders and 5 refills and use a total of 10 coupons. I ran into problems the other day at one of the stores I have had no problem at. The cashier said oh it says 1 coupon per purchase I can only take one. I had her call the the person who is I guess the shift manager that handles problems at the registers. She said the cashier is right you can only use 1 coupon for the candle holder and 1 coupon for a refill - so I could use 2 coupons total on the 10 items I was purchasing. Or she said I could buy them in separate transactions but then I would not get the gift card. So I told them I didn't want any of them. The next day I go to another store which I also have had no problem at. When I go to check out there with the same transaction the cashier said I can use 5 of the $1.50 off a candle holder OR 5 blinkies buy 1 candle holder get a free refill but not both together. I asked for a manager and she said she was a manager. I tried to explain how the coupons work but she would not budge. So once again I just left everything. I called corporate and advised them what happened and I would like to know their coupon policy. There is not a actual policy she could email me but she had me explain what happened each time and the exact coupons and wording on the coupons. She told me each store was wrong. She wanted to know which stores this happened at. She took my name and address. They have my conversation on record and gave me a reference number. If I have this problem again at any Target Store I am to go to the red phone and give the reference number and they will OK the transaction. She was very apologetic. The only bad part is I can only call during 7am - 6pm cst. So if this happens at night I'm out of luck. So if you have a problem go ahead and call. They are very helpful. I hope that they will contact the 2 stores I had a problem at and retrain their managers on the coupon policy so it makes it easier for everyone that shops there. |

Think like a cash register......... people sometimes put too much thinking & their own twist onto coupons. Like the words $1.00 off ANY meat. There is no line of meats called ANY. It simply means any meat. |

I spoke to the corporate office about this. There's no question about this not only NOT being unethical, but it is allowed to be used this way at Target. If you have any problems with cashiers or managers just call the corporate office. Problem solved. None of us should be getting all of these problems. These stores should be grateful for our business. Quote:

I had one store give me alot of problems on this; I posted a thread about it elsewhere a few weeks ago. They were letting it go through "this time"; but that was it; & it was a horrible experience; 3 employees including a Mgr. all coming up with different reasons why it was a no-go (item on free refill came up as not found when it was clearly the correct item pictured -- since they like it when it is pictured! ; transaction vs. purchase; etc. etc.; you name it, it was a horror show.I have another Target that is absolutely great, with no problems whatsoever with all the q's & transactions; the only problem is they haven't gotten in the tins; so I have a bunch of the other candles & refills, but want more tins. The rude store has the tins; but of course I wasn't planning on going back there to get more. However, I think I will call Corporate & see if I can get it all straightened out with them Does anyone know what the phone number is to their corporate offices? I have read people call from the red phones; but I also read they call from their cell phones. I was going to call from home & not in the store. TIA |

Maybe it's because it's early and I am still sleeping, but I am totally confused after reading this thread. Are you all saying that when a store is running a B1g1 that you cannot use coupons on top of that sale? Again, sorry I am confused about this. And thank you in advance for clearing this up for me. :-)
