Anyways, I saw some coupons on ebay for Starbucks frappacinos. I wondered where the seller got all these so I e-mailed and asked if they all had the same barcode and he responded that yes, they all had the same barcode but that they will work. I reported the listing to ebay since photocopying is coupon fraud. Generally when you print coupons online it generates a unique barcode. Occasionally you get ones with the same barcode, but generally they are not. Well, I checked on him today and there are a TON of coupons on there, same issue. Same barcodes. It irks me that someone would be allowed to sell fraudulent coupons and make $10 off of them! Especially since the person buying them may not be aware they are photocopied, then when they go to use them they are not able to. Its just not right. I feel like e-mailing ebay again, but on the other hand, I feel like I have already made them aware and thats all I can do. This is exactly why I only buy actual insert coupons off ebay. I certainly wouldnt want to be accused of fraud by using a photocopied coupon.

Would you all report it again or jsut give up?

unfortunately we live in a world where some people will profit whenever and wherever they can no matter how unscrupulous what they are doing is. As for me, I only buy insert q's and I am hesitant to even trade for IPs

WOW!!! I checked it out on ebay and this person is making a FORTUNE off of Photocopied coupons....there are tons of listings and most of them are bricks coupons.

just FYI regarding IPs, IIRC if it is the $1/1 starbucks frap good on singles, these were bricks coupons. For bricks coupons, they have different veri-fi codes EVEN if they have the same coupon barcodes. THEY may/may not be copies depending on your source. If you printed them yourself, then you're sure you can print 2 from every pc.

from ebay rules, it is only the FREE coupons that they limit to 2 per listing. If you find FREE coupons, especially IPs being sold in lots of 2 or more (like sellers who have 20 ++ of free coupons!), make sure to report them because most likely, they are tampered/fake coupons.

I HAVE RESERVATIONS ABOUT ALL IPs on ebay knowing how people make copies of several originals. Then they sell these copies in several lots of BIN. The unsuspecting buyer has no clue they are copies even while looking at the veri-fi codes since they are all different. They do not realize, they are multiples of several original coupons that the seller may have already used and may have printed reams of them for personal use and re-sell. When buying IPs from ebay, keep this in mind. Caveat emptor.

My big Pet peeve about Ebay sellers are the ones who sell whole inserts and NOT list the coupons and amounts since we all know the differ from region..

I never buy the IP q's on Ebay..they make me nervous I just get the insert ones

I don't sell coupons on ebay, but we have 7 computers at home alone, so technically if I were selling IP's ( and I don't) I could offer 14 of one kind legitimately without batting an eye.

Also as an FYI, there has been a glitch on some IP printing and many people had been able to print more than 2 of some with each having a different pin or code. All I am trying to say is some may be legit in some cases.

Yeah I kind of agree with you...we have 6 laptops so we can print 12 IP at any given time. My husband also has access to tons of computers at his POE and over the Summer he was able to print TONS of IP's we needed. I wouldn’t just to any conclusions just yet you never really know the circumstances. Did anyone leave negative feedback about not being able to use the IP's?

The reason I am 99% sure they are photocopied is becuase I have been watching him and he is listing them over and over. I have access to 4 computers (8 coupons total) so there is no way he has access to like 40 computers, ya know. Besides, when he responded to me when I initially asked, he said "they all work" meaning he knows they are photocopied, but they work fine, so I guess to him its okay.

If you read his feedback, he has many negatives saying they are photocopies, so this guy is a fake. I just wanted to state that there may be some out there selling them that are not fake. This is not the case here per their bad feedback.

I made the mistake of buying the frap IP q's and they were copied. I sent an email to the seller and he said he would refund my money and he did. I too think that it is very shady to do that.

yea and its just not right! A few bad people give all of us "couponers" a bad name! This is exactly why stores impose and some dont accept at all, IP's!

Oh--interesting story. I was trying to buy a disney DVD for my kids and I bought 1 and the seller had no history (my stupid fault for not checking I was excited at the almost free price and the auction was literally ending) well anyway a few days later (I decided to wait until paying to see what kind of feedback they were getting) a ton of negative feedback popped up about the buyer whose account is now closed so at least I didn't have to complete that transaction but it's always buyer beware.

The problem with copies is they MAY possibly scan without problems BUT for SURE.....they will not be paid BECAUSE the original copy is the ONLY one going to be paid while all the copies will come back to the store that redeemed them. In this case, since the seller is distributing them to unsuspecting buyers from different areas, different stores will likely be hit by this AND the effect will be on ALL OF US sooner or later when our stores get strict-er OR worse, quit taking ALL IPs

BTW, for fake/copies like this, ya'll might want to contact Bud Miller of the CIC who runs after sellers like this. AFAIK, their organization, the couponinformationcenter.org even offers rewards to people who can help them catch the source of fake coupons. He buys suspicious coupons on ebay to build up a case against suspicious sellers.

We all have to be vigilant in the fight against these sellers because we are all affected by their illegal activities.

yes, you can print on all three. But you CANNOT take a coupon to a cpoy machine and make 10 copies--that is coupon fraud.

I recently was stupid enough to buy Doritos coupons on ebay...and when I got them, they were emailed to my Ppal address, and on a word doc - the pic was copied and pasted.

I did not pay enough attention to see what i was buying, I just was in a hurry. Needless to say, I reported it to Ebay. I also called Frito Lay who put their legal dept on it. Within hours that seller had no listings. I emailed the seller and he thought he was perfectly legit. He was not in the states but in India. ??? Anyways, I will not ever buy any coupons on there again, I only get them from the coupon clippers and Coupons By Dede.

Sorry this happened to you too. In my case, the guy had listed TONS of auctions, each with 15-20 coupons that were all the same. No way in hell he had that many computers! Frito Lay said that they would never email a coupon as an apology (which I knew was true, most companies send a coupon in the mail).
