Holiday gift baskets with stockpile products?

I just started couponing & don't have a ton of time to do it each week but I've been able to stock up on quite a few things. Do you use your stockpile to make gift baskets for friends/family?

I have cleaning products, razors, shampoo, body wash, etc that I would love to use in gift baskets.

Anyone done this? Do the receipients appreciate them?

I did this for my my mom, dad, brother, and sister n law for stockings last year - only I used gift bags. I brought them out, and told them they could laugh, but if anyone made fun, they wouldn't get one next year They all LOVED them! They each got probably $75-$100 worth of stuff that they now don't have to buy and it cost me next to nothing - better than spending $50 at the dollar store for stuff that ends up getting thrown away

I did it last Christmas for some family members, they absolutely loved it, i just tailored them each a little different towards that family member/family. I have already heard comments about people being excited to get another one this year!

My SIL loves to clean so I'm going to do that for her. I think she might cry! Just wish she'd use them at my house

Sounds like a good idea to me.
I have never done it, but I wouldn't mind getting a basket of bath stuff as a gift.

My friends, family and the kid's teachers love these! I bought Aldi's bags (which are large and roomy) and sent the teachers "welcome to school bags" this year which had body wash, deoderant, toothpaste, candy, dishwashing tabs, hand sanitizer, lotion, candles, rooom freshener, snack foods, juice boxes, cookies, ziplocs, etc. They loved it! I'll do similar for Xmas gifts.

I'm doing this and have also been doing it for baby showers, new mommies in the hospital, new home gifts, etc. I stockpiled baskets and easter grass in appropriate colors (yellows for get well, pinks/blues-for new moms, greens for new homes, sparkly stuff for others) and am using that for baskets and filling. They don't look like Easter at all! This is so much fun! I love giving stuff away and this makes it so affordable and easy.

New moms especially love getting them with personal stuff for them. A lot of people remember and buy the baby stuff, but mom went through a lot to get the baby here and needs pampering. I also stockpiled slippers when Sears had them on clearance and put a pair of those in the basket, along with body lotions, washes, razors (esp since they'll be able to see their legs again soon!), along with candies, photo books, or whatever else I have around in my stockpile.

I did a gift basket for my son's teacher this year... I included:
Free Mentos Gum
Free Pens, binder clips, paper clips, etc from free school supplies (stuff they might not have a ton of)
A Glade plug in fan (for when the room get stinky with kids!)
Lysol Spray and Wipes
Hand Sanitizer
A Kroger Gift Card (from the Amp Promo)

His teacher loved it! This year everyone I know will be getting a Febreeze candle for Christmas! LOL

So far, this year's bags will have a razor, cartridges, soft soap, antibacterial bottle, and then I personalize it with items the recipient likes.

I think my family members would get upset if they didn't get one from me. I know they look forward to them as I usually put in "new" products. You know the kind of stuff that just came out and there is usually a coupon and ECB/RR deal to go with it...! They get to try it without putting the $ out for it. I also put in items they use so that helps save money as well.

Both nephews are getting into BBQ. So I am going to put all the free BBQ sauce, A-1,Weber marinades and rubs I've received into a plastic cube crate and add the Multipurpose bic lighters and charcoal to it. I'm hoping to have a good stockpile of cheap chicken and beef by then to share with them also. Oh yeah, I will also add small bags of hickory chips. I live in the country in Missouri so this is plentiful and free with an axe. Will head to thrift stores in a couple of weeks to look for BBQ books for basket also.

I made stockpile baskets last year .

Last year CVS had a great clearance on sets of wicker baskets that were lined.
I filled larger basket with household stuff for each family .The smaller baskets for each member tailored just for them along with a small gift.

I picked up the cellophane bags at Michaels using the 40% or 50% off coupon they put out each week (bought different size sets of bags each week) and the baskets ended up looking really nice . Everyone loved them.

All the teachers got them too... teddy bears with glade candles and chocolate bars .

About 3 years ago i made a basket with softsoap all flavors for my daycare lady. she is not a girlie girl so i didnt think she would like this. i was to poor to afford much at that time. she liked it so much, she asked if i wouldnt mind doing it each year. she said she loved the soaps, but wouldnt buy such 'expensive' stuff for herself. she has an in-home daycare and spends extra cash on the kids. every year i add an extras item like body spray or bees wax lip balm. and i always make sure i find the best/cutest basket i can find.

i just remembered this, a few years ago, my mom wanted a basket for her sister. couldnt find a nice wickered basket so i got a mew flower pot. added lotions, shampoo, soaps...and stuck a plastic flower arrangement in the center. mom said that was the most loved present my aunt had gotten at her birthday. instead of plastic take a brown towel and wrap around the plant and over the goodies to look like dirt.

The dollar tree has the cellophane bags that you shrink wrap with a hair dryer. These also come with a bow that you just pull the end to make a nice bow. I like these because when you shrink it everything stays in place and it really looks nice. I am stocking up on these to make bags at Christmas with all the glade candles.
