How did anybody set up or meet with other couponers in your area other than by running into them at a store? I would love to get a group going. i thought about starting one on a meeting site but it isn't free anymore. Just hoping to get a swap going or local coupon and deal chatter going.

A group of us are having our first one this month, it came about thru here...we were talking in a thread for a local grocery store and decided to do a coupon swap...maybe if you look at your local grocery store conversations here and mention it or pm some of the people that are close...I know that there are local groups on here, maybe join yours (or start one if there isn't one) and see if they are interested...

My church has a couponing group and about 15 of us belong to it. We go and trade coupons, talk, look over sales, etc. - it's a lot of fun!

I Live in S. Michigan. Where in Ohio are you? I live in Manitou Beach which is 20 miles S of Jackson and I am about 15 mile from the Ohio border. PM me if you are close to Michigan border. I would love to get together with some people and share coupons and ideas..

I have some questions for you. I realize that not every group would adopt the same guidelines, so I'm just looking for some guidance. What do you take to your meetings and how do you display it? I assume you take only what you have to trade, so you don't accidentally trade away something you want. So then how to you display them so that others can look through them? Do you trade $4$ or one for one or is it just kind of a free-for-all? How many ladies does it take to make a productive meeting? And any other info you might have to share about making a good meeting. Thanks.

We have a very fun group in Charlotte, NC. It was started by a woman to let her friends know the good deals she was finding. It is an email group with a website. We now have over 200 people and growing all the time. I have learned so much from these women and have made lots of new friends. We have gotten together once for a coupon 101 class. The way we did our coupon swap was that you put the coupons you don't want into an envelope with your name on it. Then you look through envelopes and write your name on each one as you look through it so you don't keep looking through the same ones. Whatever was left at the end we just let her take home to send to her friend in Germany. I am now sending flat rate boxes to that woman in Germany about every month, full of expired coupons and other goodies I find that I know she will like for her family and things she can share with friends and the soldiers on base. I have a couple friends that we swap coupons with every week while our kids are in p.e. class. I also get my mom's extra coupons, and my neighbor gives me hers. It's all fun.

We had our first one today and there was 5 of us and it was a lot of fun. What we did was we passed our pile of coupons to trade to the right so everyone got a fresh pile and we for the most part did stuff that was expiring this month or early jan. It worked out well and we all found coupons that we wanted / needed and everyone felt like it was fair since it was coupons we didn't need anyway...

We brought a few laptops (to look up deals on here etc ), a few copies of walgreens ads, coupon binders (to show us newbies!), name tags... we met for around 2 hours and talked abit about the walgreens ads, couons and maybe hitting a farmers market together!

Put something together,we had a really good time!

Taking the ads was a great idea. And it would be fun to look at the binders. You're going to hit a farmers market? As it produce?

I prefer to look at the ads on paper than online and I went to wags before hand so I grabbed a few so that we weren't all sharing one to look at!

I really liked looking at the binders as I need a better system that what I have been doing and so 2 girls brought theirs in and we had show and tell! It was very helpful to see how they did certain things and why!

Yeah, something about the deals at the soulard market came up and we all wanted to go but didn't want to go alone so we are going to go together sometime, which will be great since some of the produce is in large quantities, we can divide it up!

You should set something up, we all had a great time and want to do it again! We only had 5 and it was a good size for the fist one!

I wish we could do something like that here! My problem is that my area is so rural and most people from my state are very scattered.

When I notice someone lives in TX I send an email, ask where, and if in my area jot down their name. I want to start a "clipper club" in my area. Think swapping Qs in person, instead of by mail! Plus, having someone to visit with while you clip.

& feeko5 my folks live in detroit, you are right you're not far from ohio. we were looking at moving up that way & have my DH work in Toledo, but then his job closed that remote office

I am having a coupon party January 10th at 2:00. If anyone who is in Arkansas is local enough to come join us. I have sent out some email invitations and posted on the local freecycle group to get some interest. I don't know how many people will attend and it will be something new for all of us I'm sure. if no one shows up then my dh and I will eat all the smoked cheeses, summer sausage and Rotel cheese dip I reckon.
