| Overage Ethical?
is Overage Ethical... I got a good bit overage today and am just wondering what everyone's opinions are. I have actually NEVER had overage before and I had another 30.00 worth of items above the 60.00 in q's I saved.. not that I guess thatwould make a difference.. the CSM even came over to approve... she just smiled about it and turned her key (yes walmart)... what do you think?

Think of it this way. The store gets reimbursed for the face value of each coupon plus .08. They're not losing out by the overage.

well I know they get reimbursed and i know the companies make tons of money... I guess it's more of a personal thing.

I agree with MaxxMe. The store is being reimbursed, and people that actually get overage are probably a very small percentage of a store's customers. The company wants you to have their product, so they offer the coupons and other promotions. Then you buy something with them and have the product in your home constantly "advertising" to you with its pretty packaging. I wouldn't feel bad |

Consider yourself lucky, not all stores do that. If you had other items and it reduced your bill than, more power to you! Now, if you didn't have other things, I think they would have probably price adjusted and you wouldn't have gotten any money back. I don't have much luck getting overage, but I am glad it works for some people.

If it's going to bug you and make you feel dishonest.....it could lead to you winding up not using coupons at all, a 'bad taste in your mouth' kinda thing. Then you'd not be completely legitimately saving $, which is bad too. So if overage bugs you, avoid it? My .02c |

thanks for all your input! This is the first time I have ever gotten and doubt it will happen again..for sure not often. Probably not enough for me to be concerned over. I was really curious how others felt about it. You all have great points on both sides!

I noticed that during the SFW Triple coupons up to $.50 the coupons tripled and gave an overage for some products. For example, I purchased Lipton Pure Life tea and they were $1.25 each and I got an overage of $.25 and purchased 4 bottles and $1 overage. Cashier told me they are doing this again this week and I already clipped have my $.50 Q's ready to shop.
