how have you handled large parent companies

For instance con agro foods. When you try to contact them they send you to a form, do we pick each individual product we like and ask for coupons? How have you handled this?

First rule I follow NEVER ask for coupons. 95% of the time you'll be shot down. I always email from each individual product page. Not the parent company site. I always just leave a nice short compliment to the company.

The only time I've ever done that was Ball Park Franks. I did go thru the BPFranks web page though, not Sara Lee.

However. I did ask for q's (nicely, and after I'd complemented them excessively, talking about my son's food allergies and thanking them for their ingredients and how my DH ironically works for a competitor). In their case, the contact was to a Sara Lee email as opposed to a Ball Park Frank email and I don't know how many people they have processing those emails- it could be that just a few people reading those and I could have gone to every Sara Lee webpage and in fact been contacting the same person over and over, in which case I doubt I would have received multiple q's. However I specifically wanted BP Frank q's, not anything else, so that's where I went to contact.

What I got sent wasn't just a BP Frank q, though, it was for either BP Franks ~or~ 3 or 4 other similar products by the same manu. So in their case, I suspect while you can use any number of ways to contact them, they only make a few mailable q's and have them usable for several different products, instead of making a mailable q for each product they manufacture.

If CA sends you q's, it's probably going to be a q book, they make those, so it might not matter what you check on the request form. Also, knowing the company a little, I'm guessing they probably have minimal staff reading their contact emails, so you'd probably just be contacting the same person over and over at the Omaha office. Which may make you look a little like you're digging, if you KWIM.

If you're really trying to do some serious BORG, I'd pick one product and see what happens. Wait til you get a q, look to see what all it's for, and go back and request again. Probably they won't remember you after a couple weeks anyway.

yeah that is what I ended up doing, I picked some of my favorite products and sent one mail to the parent company. And just mentioned my favorite and that I was surprised to see they made a lot of my other favorites as well.
